First of all he gave me the wrong diagnosis. The medications he prescribed actually made my condition worse. I stopped seeing him after 6 visits and when I showed no improvement. I know the patient has just as much an important role as the doctor, but he hardly asked any questions and seemed to try and rush me out of his office. Everytime I questioned a medication and why it was being prescribed, he seemed to get angry and pretend that I didn't know what I was talking about. I may have a mental disorder, but don't treat me like I am stupid. On top of that he was prescribing me atypical anti-psychotics when I had NO symptoms of any mood disorder (like Bipolar Disorder), psychotic symptoms, and/or Psychosis. I lost several months of my life because I was too "numb" and "destructive" to do anything. I told him this and he continues to prescribe these medications and tells me "It's a side effect." Plus he INCREASES THE DOSE! It appeared to me that he was promoting and trying to prescribe… specific medications, even giving free samples away.I thought I was going crazy, literally. He did NOTHING to help my condition and once again, my condition got worse. I saw another Psychiatrist and he actually laughed when I told him what my diagnosis was from Dr. Amirneni. My insurance changed soon after so I had to change doctors again and this new Psychiatrist looked puzzled when I told him about Dr. Amirneni's diagnosis. Oh and if you have ANY form of Anxiety Disorder (Like Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia), don't even attempt seeing this doctor. He will give you Vistril to help your anxiety when Vistril has NO medical evidence to treat Panic Disorder. He refuses to prescribe Benzodiazepines and I can understand why, but there are special cases where Benzodiazepines may help save someone's life when SSRIs, SNRIs, Buspar and Antihistimines don't help as much as they could. Take my advice, DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR. Find someone else. Almost ALL insurance companies provide multiple doctors you can see. Don't choose this one. BTW, I know another person who has experienced almost the same exact thing. Find the right doctor, get the right diagnosis, get the right medications and proper dosing, and seek Psychotherapy to improve. But don't do include this doctor anywhere on that list. Trust me.
