Dr. Satnam Singh Atwal, MD

I should of saw the signs on the 1st visit. His office is a mess with coke cans and empty water bottles all over the office. I would see the same cans and bottles for months at a time. He has patient files all over the floor. So sloppy and disorganized. Does not listen, gets you in and out. The 1st visit, within 5 minutes, diagnosed me with bi-polar??? I have been to several therapist and doctors and always been diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder with mild depression. He tells you how you are feeling! Does not take the time within the 2.5 minutes that you are with him! He is very dismissive. He says he called in my prescriptions, but never does. I go 1-2 weeks with out my medication. I call and call and leave voice mails, because the do not answer the phones, and it goes straight to voice mail. they never return the calls. I even sent e-mails with no response. If you didn't have anxiety you sure will putting up him!

Unfortunately he has prescribed incorrect/unintended dosage twice in less than two years. He doesn’t listen; clips my sentences. Takes phone calls mid-appointment in front of me (pre-covid in-person). Held in-person appointments without regard to covid till suddenly they were by phone. Based on the canned re-caps on how I’m doing; they are just wrong. I never visited such and such place. I can’t prove it but based on my experience with bp treatment over 12yrs, stable, same med; he withholds the stabilizer choosing to prescribing mo-mo. He withheld a refill after a missed appointment until he could reschedule; left me suddenly out of stabilizer and for a half a week or so; it was rough. The benzo; multiple refills. This is backward to my experience and I think he’s farming my insurance and holding the critical med back. This has resulted in mis-dosage as stated above. I moved here from the mid-west and Visalia is SO underserved. I’m not doing great. Still looking for help. Second site… I’ve reviewed on; please avoid for safety unless you KNOW exactly the med you need and when to complain. He’s just a signature.

Dr. Atwal ("the crazy doctor" as my husband and I have nicknamed him) is the worst doctor I have ever had. He left me in a big predicament this past week as he claims that he put in the prescription for my medication to my pharmacy, but they claim he has not done so. He is also not responding to their inquiries. Everything worked okay when I got a written prescription, but due to COVID-19, that has not been happening. I have been calling his office and the pharmacy repeatedly without results. He is putting my health at risk as one is not supposed to stop the med cold turkey. I have been paying for the medication myself because the doctor will not write prescription for 3 month supply and my insurance is requiring that. I had to get my PCP to prescribe the medication and I will not be seeing Dr. Atwal ever again!

He helped me with my problem. He listens to me and I felt that he truly understood me.

I received a list of providers from my insurance when I needed to find a psychiatrist. Dr. Atwal was the only one that was accepting new patients and could see me in the near future. Now I know why. I thought I had an appointment today. Turns out that it was last week and I had missed it. I explained that my purse was recently stolen along with the appointment card and that I never received a reminder call. The receptionist was condescending and argumentative and said I owe them $50 for a no show fee. I said I’d like to talk to the doctor about it and his attitude was even worse. You’d think that a mental health professional would be kinder and more understanding towards his patients but based on the other reviews I see it’s not only me. It’s really not about the $50, it’s about the disrespectful treatment. Shameful.

Worst doctor ever. He prescribed 9 psychiatric meds for me. It made me much worse. Went to Stanford medical center. The chief of psychiatry said that I was prescribed 6 meds too many. Especially bad was the time that I spent taking Geodon which was stopped immediately by my Stanford doctor. The Geodon caused damage to my brain and I have never completely recovered from it. STAY AWAY

I met the dr when I was hospitalized. He was rude not only to me but my parents too. My family's joke was take off the m of his first name and move the a in front of the n. He was that bad.

There should be over site of doctors and staff operating in that capacity

Dr. Atwal takes on patients others don't want. It doesn't matter who you are, if you are willing to listen and follow directions you will benefit

He was so rude....even my loving parents could not stand him. For poor treatment.
