Very good bedside manner. The office on Portage Ave is certainly small and spartan. The receptionists were lacking a welcoming attitude.

When I first went to the walk in I seen dr.rehal and on that vist I seen dr nijar.i was happy to have seen both of them fast.on the second vist to both I was not impressed.

After suffering with severe headaches since 2002, having 7 shunt revisions, and 1 3rd ventricularoscopy, I was refered to Dr. Nijjar to discuss possible CSF leak and treatment. I first saw Dr. Nijjar in the summer of 2011. He went over all of my history, looked at some of the test I had in Richmond, VA, ordered more tests that I had not had, and we then decided to have a fibren glud blood patch. It held for about 8 months then the headaches returned. At that point, we had another fibren glue blood patch. It did not hold. Dr. Nijjar suggested I be admitted to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for a week so they could check my CSF pressures. That test confirmed there was a leak. Dr Nijjar then refered me to Dr. Ali Bydon, and he performed surgery and repaired the leak. No headaches since surgery. (See review on Dr. Bydon.) Other doctors that were instrumental in my care are Dr. Solomon and Dr. Kathuria. Going to Johns Hopkins was a last resort option for me. I have suffered with migraines since I was 11; I am 29 now. Over the past two years the headaches have increased in severity and now occur daily. I have seen several neurologists and specialists over the years and gone through a long list of medications and treatments, some conventional and some not. So I was anxiously awaited the day of my appointment; an appointment I had made seven months earlier. After spending only 20 minutes with me, giving me a drug I hadn't tried before but was in the same class of medicines I had tried several times previously and with no success, he told me I should try Botox and that his office would authorize it with my insurance company. I was disheartened mainly because I was hoping for some sort of cure or cause that just wasn't there. It didn't help that his beside manner wasn't very reassuring. Personally, I would've preferred him to tell me that he had confidence we would get rid of my… migraines and my quality of life would improve, even if it was only to make me feel better. It was three weeks ago now that I have seen him. I have had several severe migraines since then and tried the medicine he prescribed to no avail. I have attempted to call his medical assistant to get in touch with him (since he has no direct number) to ask what I should do as I am in severe pain and missing work. I also want to know when the Botox will be scheduled. My insurance deductible is due to begin again in several weeks and the treatments are very expensive. It has now been over a week since I first contacted them, and I have since left four messages. Never once have they answered the phone. It is absolutely appalling to me that such a nationally recognized institution could treat their patients this way. If you suffer from severe migraines DO NOT go to the headache clinic. The most important thing about a patient/doctor relationship is communication and you will most definitely not find it at Johns Hopkins.
