Dr. Saumil Harshad Parikh, MD

This doctor has no compassion nor customer service experience in regards to relating to his patients. He has this "I'm above you & you're lower than me" demeanor about himself. He talks to you in a derogatory way. This experience happened to me in the ER at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, on Main Street. I went to the ER because I was scheduled to have an MRI done earlier, and during the procedure I had to stop twice due to the pain I was having in my pelvis and legs. I couldn't finish the procedure and finally asked the technician to take me to the ER. I was in the ER for over two hours, and during that time no one on the staff examined me in any way. Two other staff members came over to me, at different times; asked me some questions, and left. This doctor Saumil Parikh came over to me, and I asked him is someone going to be tending to me, giving me something for this pain in my legs etc., that I had explained earlier to the staff members who… previously had asked me questions. The doctor asked my name; asked me a few questions and then left (his demeanor was already presenting a bad attitude). He returned about 5 minutes later, showed me the profile the hospital had on me with a list of medications, all the while talking to me in a derogatory and demeaning way, and concluded with he feels I could have completed the MRI procedure that I didn't finish earlier (because of the pain I was in) and said they are not going to service me and he's going to discharge me. After exchanging words, letting him know my rights etc. he said he would have the police escort me out if I didn't leave. I got his information (name, title etc.) & let him know that I would be filing a complaint against him and the dept etc. I left the facility and ended up at another hospital who admitted me & treated me for Herniated Nucleus Pulposus in 3 locations along my spine.
