I saw Dr. Segal after going to four other specialists. I was not happy with her practice nor my appointment. I had a 9:30am appointment but was not seen until 11am, and that was after I had to tell her staff - twice -- that I could not wait any longer. The check-in team actually blamed me for the delay because they didn't know how to process a self-paying patient. They had to call Billing and get some form for me to fill out, even after I'd made the payment. Then, they gave me the wrong New Patient Form, so I had to fill out a completely new form. They actually put another patient in before me, and I still had to wait for Dr. Segal even though my paperwork was done before this other patient. Dr. Segal gave me a cursory apology and then rushed through the appointment. She blamed the delay on the practice 'double booking me' and seemed to be trying to make up the time during my appointment. Dr. Segal is very black or white, which doesn't align with the nuances of urogynecology.… Several times she made a claim about my symptoms which were different than what I had just told her. Last, her clinical notes from the visit had incorrect information about me, my medical history, and the exam.

Unfortunately, this was the worst doctor experience I’ve ever had. From the beginning, her attitude was cold and abrupt, which was both surprising and unsettling. There was a complete lack of empathy and willingness to listen—essential qualities I expect in a healthcare provider. What was especially concerning was that she seemed in a rush to leave the room, literally standing by the door while I was still trying to ask questions. I felt more like a number on a checklist than a patient seeking help. The entire interaction felt mechanical and impersonal. To make matters worse, she had incorrect information about the antibiotic I was currently taking. When I pointed this out, she brushed it off as if it were no big deal—something that could have led to serious consequences had it gone unnoticed. I left feeling unheard, dismissed, and extremely disappointed. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone seeking thoughtful, attentive, or competent care.

This doctor made feel as if I had somehow offended her, even though we just met. I explained that I have a long history of urinary symptoms which have increased over time. At this point, I’m in constant pain and experiencing frequency and urgency that makes life difficult. I’ve been seeing specialists for years, which has led to no clear diagnosis or effective treatment. Recently, another urogynecologist recommended that I have surgery (which is a very scary prospect!). I went to Dr. Segal for a second opinion because she has amazing credentials. I guess I’m glad I met with her because she doesn’t think I need surgery, but her tone left me incredulous. She didn’t listen, talked over me, and everything she said sounded like an accusation.

Dr. Segal, I found her to be professional and informative in her work. Although I did not have the surgery she recommended at this time she did provide me with an other option which I am satisfied with. I would recommend family and friends to her if needed. And her staff is so kind.
