Scarlett Idema, FNP-BC, is a bilingual family nurse practitioner and the founder of Medicina Scarlett in Southwest Detroit. She provides comprehensive, compassionate primary and urgent care with a special focus on serving the Hispanic community. Patients appreciate her warm, family-first approach and clear communication in both English and Spanish.

Mission and Community Focus

Medicina Scarlett was created to eliminate barriers to care related to language, cost, and immigration status. The clinic’s vision is to be the trusted home for family health in Southwest Detroit, recognized for warmth, trust, and unwavering commitment to every patient. The practice has been recognized by the City of Detroit’s Motor City Match program and continues to expand to meet community needs.

Primary Care, Urgent Care, and a full-service Pharmacy are under one roof. Walk-ins are welcome, Spanish is spoken, and patients are served …regardless of insurance coverage.

• Primary care for adults and children, routine check-ups, and preventive screenings
