Dr. Scot Francis Bertolo, MD

If I could give Dr Bertolo a 0 rating, I would! If you need medical treatment regarding an accident of any kind, WARNING look somewhere else! I'm on the verge of suing this Dr for lying and unethical behavior. I chose this Dr because reviews seemed ok. My thoughts are they must be phony reviews, probably people they know making up good reviews. I saw this Dr after stepping on a sensor tack at a retail store in a dressing room. I filled out an incident report with the store after the incident. A couple weeks later I was still experiencing soreness and pain in my rt foot. I waited a little longer to see if it would resolve on its own. It didn't, so I made an appt with Urban Podiatry. I took in the sensor tack that I had kept along with pics of the wound to my foot on my cell phone and showed Dr Bertolo. I explained I'd never had issues with my foot ever in my life, the pain started after I stepped on the sensor tack at the store. He sat in front of me that day and verbally said the tack… was long enough to reach the tendon that runs across the bottom of my foot and would have irritated and caused my plantar fasciitis. My mistake to assume a Dr would write in his notes the cause of my diagnosis. I went on to see him a few more times. Another visit was for a cortisone shot in my foot because I continued to have issues after the meds he prescribed and at home treatment plan didn't work. I had several high copays I payed to Urban Podiatry thinking I would be reimbursed by the "at fault" insurance company. The insurance company was at the time eager to assist me with my bills in helping me recover from the foot injury. But when it came to getting my medical records from Dr Bertolo, there was nothing in my records of EVER stepping on the sensor tack! This Dr screwed me from getting reimbursed for ANY of my medical bills, my lawyer dropped the case because this doctor lied about my diagnosis later changing his story to "he didn't think it was caused from the injury of stepping on the tack" per his rude man secretary at the front desk. I was nice and said to the front desk guy, could you ask Dr Bertolo again because that's NOT what he initially told me at my first visit. They said they'd get back with me, but of course didn't. I sent them a text, and email wanting an explanation of why Dr Bertolo was now changing his story and lying? They never answered me back, so I emailed them demanding they mail all my medical records to me, including any verbal conversations. I recently received my records in the mail with no mention of me stepping on a sensor tack. So a long story short, this doctor took my money, scammed me out of being reimbursed, didn't fix my foot, and now I'm waiting on my medical insurance co to come after me wanting repaid for medical bills that should've been paid by the store's insurance co. This has been nothing short of a nightmare with this Dr, his rude staff, and their lies, insurance fraud for changing his story, and unethical behavior. Shortly after I stepped on the sensor tack, the stores insurance co was calling me stating they wanted to take care of my medical bills. I told the truth to my 2 medical insurance companies when they mailed me paperwork regarding the injury about what happened that caused the injury.  And the Dr at that time agreed the sensor tack had caused my injury. If my insurance wants repayment they can go after this insurance fraudulent quack Dr! I would be more than happy to face him on a witness stand and call him out on his lies under oath. I even messaged this Dr on Facebook because I couldn't get past the rude front desk guy. Still no reply back from this Dr! He's in it for the money only, has rude guy at front desk, lies, and my foot is still bothering me. I only thought it was fair to warn anyone considering this cheat. If you're ok with him telling you one thing at your first visit to keep you coming to see him for more money, gladly taking your copays, then him lying about your condition, well what else is there to say. Ethical issue I intend to report it. No, I don't recommend!!
