I've never written a review before but this experience was so bad I felt that others must be made aware. Dismissive and condescending! This man is a disgrace to his profession! He entered the exam room looking like he had slept in his clothes, and then he took a personal phone call DURING my exam - and he stayed n the exam room for the call. He was more interested in telling me that he wouldn't prescribe me pain meds when I was merely in for a six-month diabetes check and hadn't said anything about any meds. He childishly argued with me about his title "Doctor" instead of listening to the main reason for my visit. He also complained about how my appointment was cutting into his lunch plans. I couldn't believe how immature he acted. I've never "fired" a physician - until now. DO NOT see him for anything!

What do you call the person who was last in his/her class at med school? “Doctor,” unfortunately. That’s what we have here. A simple adjustment - something I have allowed only twice in my life - resulted in a rib cage injury that three weeks later still hurts so badly it impacts my ability. Even worse, Ascension Via Christi had shown no interest in taking care of the costs caused by Akers error/malpractice. Find a different doc, and find a different medical group.

Extremely dismissive of concerns shared with him. Introduced himself by coming into the exam room and gruffly asking me "What do you want?". Treated as if I was seeking pain medications when I asked if I could have my cholesterol checked. He said "you won't get meds". How irrational of me to want to check my health. It's almost as if I thought I was seeing a doctor or something. I know this sounds like the generic "didn't get their way" kind of rating. It is a genuine review. Please do not do yourself the disservice of seeing this man if you appreciate compassionate healthcare staff.

He really shows that he cares about your care. He listens and is good at what he does!

I thought my visit for high blood pressure and diabetes went really well. He knew what he was talking about but at the same time didn’t order unnecessary testing or require excessive repeat office visits for my issues. Some of my friends have seen him as well and were also pleased.

My daughter was seen by Dr. Akers. He was prompt, polite and really took the time to listen to her and help figure out the best way to care for and treat her. He was willing to listen to suggestions and take them into consideration for treatment. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Uncaring "teenager" more interested in flirting with staff than he is with patients. Unresponsive to communications and uncaring towards patients. Is this the future of PCP's?!
