Dr. Scott Baker
Dr. Baker was born and raised in Humphreys County. He is a graduate of Waverly Central High School. Married for 15 years to wife, Dena, they have two school-aged sons named Garrett and Graham. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, boating, golfing and spending time outdoors with family. Members of the First Baptist Church in Waverly, Dr. Baker and his wife are actively involved with the church, and he assists with coaching his sons in Little League Baseball.
After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, Dr. Baker received his DDS from the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 1999. This graduating class ranked as the academic number one class in the country. Dr. Baker graduated among the top 10 percent of his group. Seven years ago, Dr. Baker purchased the practice from Dr. James “Jimmy” Powers, after being an Associate of Dr. Powers for one year. Dr. Powers had operated out of this location for 50 years. Professional memberships include …the American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the Academy of General Practice Orthodontics (AGPO), the Tennessee Dental Association, and the Nashville Dental Society. He achieved Fellowship status in 2005 with the AGD, which is earned by completion of 500 hours of continuing education and passing a rigorous comprehensive exam. Among his studies are 19 hours of Advanced Rehabilitative Dentistry in Provo, Utah and 84 hours of Esthetics and Occlusal Based Restorative Dentistry in Charlotte, N.C.
