This was an initial consult with Dr. Barkin. I particularly appreciated the time he took to discuss my specific situation and pros and cons of different treatments. Refreshingly, candid and honest.

Very knowledgeable and thorough in explaining all of the possible complications of procedure. Willing to listen to the patient! Tells both the good and bad about to expect.

Arrived 1:15 for a1:45 appointment. Dr arrived early and did test and provided guidance for future evaluation and medicine need. Office very courteous and pleasant greeting. Booked next appointment very easily.

Dr Barkin has been my urologist fir 30+ years. I trust and respect him.

My appoint was for 1:15pm. I arrived at 12:45pm, as instructed. I began to fill out what has to be the largest stack of "new patient" paperwork I've ever seen in my life - but I did. While filling out the paperwork, the receptionists were discussing how much better they are at bowling when they're drunk. Very professional staff. Finally, I was escorted back, where I had to give a urine sample (for what reason, exactly, I don't know). Then I was led to a room, where I sat for a solid hour. No interaction with anyone. No updates saying he was running behind - nothing. Finally, I left. As I was walking past the reception desk, I tried to stop and let them know I was leaving. Whoever was there was talking to another nurse, and when that conversation ended - she told me to wait. Well, no, not waiting any longer. I'm leaving. I'm not entirely sure she could have given less of a rat's behind. Now, for whatever reason, maybe he heard me leaving, the doctor comes around the… corner and says he can see me now. Well, gee, thanks pal, but I need to go back to work since you kept me waiting so long. He then appeared "offended" when I said I couldn't wait any longer and left. Now, I will say, my interaction with the *actual doctor* was almost non-existent, so I can't be sure if the problem lies with him, or just the office staff. Either way, his staff reflects on him, and vice versa. Moral of the story - find another doctor.

Dr Barkin was my stepfather’s assigned urology Physician in St Ann’s Hospital. He was very knowledgeable and explained his situation to him & my mother. He ended up having to have a kidney stone removed with other admitting diagnoses. Surgery went well and quite relieved to know that they can return to their home in New Mexico.

I was referred to Dr. Scott Barkin by my GP. He had attended med school with him and said he was the best. He removed a tumor from my bladder 14 yrs ago and I've been worry free. He is an outstanding and caring Doctor. I still see him a couple times a year for a Prostrate problem and he is always knowledgeable and caring. I would recommend him to anyone searching for the best.

I think Dr.Barkin is a very good dr. If it hadn't been for him I would not have gotten the help I needed, he sent me to Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion because when the path came back neg. he knew it wasn't correct after seeing the mass, he knew it was cancer. I am very thankful that I had a Dr. that knew what he was doing. If it hadn't been for Dr. Barkin the outcome might have been a lot different.

Dr. Barkin has been a wonderful doctor for us for many years. His diagnosis and treatment plans are top-notch. His compassion and caring for us as patients is unparalleled. I would highly recommend him to anyone. You cannot find a better one that Dr. Barkin. Our experience has been wonderful.
