Unprofessional, rude, condescending, terse - everything you don't want in a first meeting with a surgeon. I would NEVER use him again or trust that he would take care of me.

Dr. Brown was always very professional, thorough, and had an excellent "bedside manner.

I am somebody who has grown up seeing orthopedic surgeons because of a genetic condition I suffer from. I have had nine reconstructive surgeries by some of the best in the world. I recently began having moderate pain and swelling in my right foot and decided to make an appointment with Dr. Brown, so I wouldn't have to travel to Seattle. I was so excited to be seen because the pain was driving me insane. The night before my appointment I was called and rescheduled two weeks out because Dr. Brown had to be in the OR. I was understanding about this and was excited for my new appointment to get some kind of relief. On the day of my appointment, I waited for 45 minutes to see Dr. Brown and once he did come in he didn't give me the time of day. I began explaining my pain and he interrupted me and asked me to stand. When he saw that my foot was in neutral, he came to the conclusion that nothing was wrong with it. He didn't ask me about the quality of my pain, the time of day it… occurs, or methods that make it better. I told him about the swelling I get at the end of the day and he looked at his clock before saying “it’s the end of the day now and it’s not swollen.” I didn't have any swelling at the moment because I have been laid up sick the last few days and the swelling occurs after movement... he would have known that if he would have listened to me. I felt very belittled, as though he was calling me a liar, and as if he did not take me seriously. He did not empathize with me, nor did he offer any solution whatsoever. I am very frustrated as now I have to make a trip to Seattle to be seen by someone who will take long enough to listen to me and exam me thoroughly. Very unfortunate as I would have loved to have a good doctor in Coeur d'Alene & although I need to undergo knee surgery first, I would have loved to know what is causing my pain... Side note: in the past 11 years, I have never left a doctor a bad review. I have a very high grace level because I know their jobs are hard. Unfortunately, dr brown surpassed that level of grace today.

He is very personable & attentive to patient. Very good surgeon and excellent follow up care

He only took 5 mins with me on my ankle and did not talk or discuss an issue I have been having with my ankle but instead sent me to PT for 6 weeks and said by that time he wants me walking fine and out of boot and brace regardless of being referred to him because I have a history of a weak ankle and sprain it constantly even while just walking :( very disappointed

This doctor did more harm than good.

Very compassionate and informative answered all my questions and concerns following arm surgery due to MVA. Surgery went well and is healing properly.

he treated me like I was his only patient. Very competent and compassionate. My problem resolved with his care and I have referred family members to him. I would not hesitate to returns to Dr. Brown.
