Dr. Scott Daniel Burge, MD

After using a decongestant nasal spray (Afrin) for nearly 2 years in an attempt to breathe through my hose at night while in a fully reclined position, I finally decided to seek help. Scott Burge at Mid-South Ear, Nose & Throat found a polyp in my left nasal cavity, and after an additional non-invasive test (CAT Scan), he indicated that a relatively simple procedure (called a turbinate resection/reduction) could be executed during the removal of the nasal polyp. The result of this procedure exceeded my expectations. My life has been changed now that I can breathe easily in bed and sleep through the night…and for the most part, without snoring (the last an extra benefit that I didn’t expect). Scott Burge has a professional, yet relaxed demeaner which gave me the freedom to describe my symptoms in my own way…and because of Scott’s willingness to listen, he was able to recommend, and then execute, a treatment plan for the symptoms that bothered me most.

I was highly impressed with Dr. Scott Burge and would highly recommend him to anyone with small children: - Great way to interact with small kids to make the appointment fun and keeps kids cooperative during exam - Excellent at explaining the issue to the parent and discussing any additional concerns - The appointment was not rushed. My son (3 years old) was sitting by himself in the exam chair and let both of his ears checked without me having to hold him or comfort him. He was cracking up laughing during the exam and walked out of the appointment very happy. - Would certainly recommend Dr. Burge and will go back to see him if the need should arise

Dr. Burgers is great with kids. He doesn't rush you out and we haven't had to wait long. Overall good experiences!
