He has been active in the state's professional organization throughout his career and served as the MOA's president in 2015. Dr. Burks has been involved at the regional level as well. He served as president of the North Central States Optometric Council in 2017. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Burks and his wife reside in Arnold, Missouri. Dr. Burks enjoys traveling, reading, and spoiling their cocker spaniel.
