Dr. Scott Duane Charette, MD

The great majority of my practice involves patients with vascular disease. In particular I evaluate and treat patients who have aneurysms of the aorta, carotid artery stenosis(narrowing of the arteries in the neck-which can lead to strokes), and stenosis/occlusions of arteries in the legs. I am able to treat aortic aneurysms by both an open repair as well as by endovascular methods utilizing aortic stent grafts. I work hand-in-hand with several services here at Altru Health Care Systems to provide the best all-around care needed for each patient. This includes the Wound Care Team, which provides excellent care for both chronic and acute wounds, as well as Interventional Radiology team to aid with diagnostic as well as theapeutic options as a couple of examples. A team approach is often necessary and is our approach. Also within the scope of my practice are general surgical issues such as treating patients with disease states such as biliary problems(gallbladder/liver), hernias, and …colon cancer.

I am a board certified by the American Board of Surgery. I have completed a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. I have been in practice here for close to 3 years now and have performed and currently perform a wide range of vascular procedures as well as manage other vascular disease states These include but are not limited to: -Aortic Aneurysms,Popliteal Aneurysms, Carotid Stenosis, and Peripheral Vascular Disease.
