Dr. Scott James Cross, MD

Dr. Cross is knowledgeable in many fields of medicine and quite willing to answer questions regarding any problem. As an oncologist, he is thorough, attentive and caring. He saw me through chemo, chemo-radiation and post-surgery care for esophogeal cancer. Though I am now eligible to be released from his care 5 years from diagnosis, I will continue to see him as long as he is willing.

Dr. Cross treated my husband about 2 years ago. Dr. Cross is now treating me. Hey, we have a family hemetologist! If you're looking for a doctor who will take the time to explain your situation and treatment plan, look no further than Dr.Cross. He is kind, caring and has a bona-fide interest and concern in his patients well being. He is approachable, easy to talk with, very smart. I feel confident with Dr. Cross as my hemetologist.

I must say that I agree whole-heartedly with the incredibly positive comments others have posted about Dr. Scott Cross. I, too, have a "fascinating array" of multiple health issues that started in 1992 ... Auto-Immune, Genetic, Complications from Medications & Surgeries, Prophylactic Care ... you name it. Dr. Cross works closely with my equally incredible PCP, Dr. Julie Damman, to cover all of the bases in my long-term, chronic, refractory, complicated challenges. He is honest, straight forward, caring, empathetic. When he sees you for an appointment or during a treatment, he always sits down next to you & listens to you as if you were his only patient. He also does a hands-on physical exam at each visit. Everyone on his staff is easy to work with and equally caring. Barbara P., his Infusion/Treatment Nurse, is as wonderful and caring as he is. She makes sure that every patient is well informed and treated as an individual with another "real life" outside of the Treatment Area. She is… one of the most caring and honest and accepting and calming and accessible Nurses I've ever known. (I am a Retired Nurse so I do have lots of experience in that area.) In conclusion, my Life has been blessed by every one of my many interactions with all of the caring staff at VOA.

WOW! The perfect doctor AND they take insurance AND the staff/admin are the most sweet, kind, caring professionals I know. Do you want a doctor who is honest, intelligent, makes sure you understand his instructions, willing to try different therapies to help you, is proactive, great teacher? He's it. Helped my stepfather, who referred me to him. A doctor who can think through tough problems, & KNOWS his stuff in & out, upside down. The 1st treatment I had done doesn't seem to have helped, but he did let me know this before we started. OK by me, unlike most docs, he starts trying therapies immediately, no sit & wait, costing you sick leave/copays. His staff is just tremendous. They even call after 5 pm on Fridays! Even the patients there, great people. Supportive atmosphere. Had to wait a bit for an appt. once, he apologized for that. I don't know of another doc that recognizes the value of your time. An "old time" doc w/latest knowledge & the best staff/admin to boot.

Dr. Scott Cross is a very respectiable man. He care about his patient and always make sure you understand your situation. When every I have a problem I call on Cyrstal and Dr. Cross and they come running. I love them. Don't know what I would do without him. Thanks so much Dr. Cross.
