Dr. Scott Michael Dinehart, MD

I saw Dr. Dinehart many years ago but have never forgotten how badly I was treated. I was nervous about the surgery to begin with and he had a total lack of understanding. Before the surgery I was given a shot which immediately caused a headache. I also felt sick and told him about it which only irritate him. You would think a doctor would want to know when a patient was having reactions, but not him. He did nothing but act hateful and just wanted me to shut up. Later his nurse seemed to be making excuses for him, I got the feeling she was embarrassed by his behavior, but it real did not help my opinion of him. The discount I was to get also did not happen.

It was necessary for me to go back to have more cancers removed. It was a positive experience from check in to check out. When I checked in Jessica's smiling face greeted me, then Carla took me to the surgery room and stayed with me from start to finish explaining what, when, and why. Doctor Dinehart came in to do the surgery and was friendly and explained everything. After the surgery Kelsey came in and did her "magic", the sites were dressed and I was on my way. These four people were great and I know from past experience, the others I will be meeting in future follow-up visits will also have the same attitude. That is the climate in this office. I have just been declared "cured" and released from my first skin cancer surgery. When Doctor Dinehart did my assessment we sat down in a relaxed atmosphere and he explained the procedure and prognosis in a conversational way without any medical jargon, and encouraged questions and comments. He answered my questions and listened to my comments. Throughout my surgery and later follow-up, the atmosphere was always relaxed and positive. I was always seen at or very close to my appointment time. Next month I will be going back for removal of more skin cancers, and this time, due to the above experience, my stress level will be way down.

Dr. Dinehart and his staff took excellent care of me and they were kind and caring, as well as knowlegble, which helped me get through the whole process. I had cancer on my face which was traumatic, but they helped me understand what they were going to do, and it all turned out very well. I sure hope I never need a Mohs surgeon again, but Dr. Dinehart would be my only choice!

I took my son to see Dr. Dinehart about a skin condition that was keeping him up every night because he was itching so bad. Upon entering the room, he introduced himself and referenced that dermatology was a lot like behavior psychology. He went on to confirm what the physicians assistant had said, which happened to be the only bit of useful information. He talked down to me, he told me that my son would grow out of this skin condition eventually and that the only reason my son was worried about it was because I was worried. He also said I was obsessing. I told him that I wasn't worried this was going to hurt his development, but that it was just miserable not knowing what was wrong with him and watching him scratch and cry every day. He kept referencing that he will be fine later in life (and showed no concern to my son's current level of discomfort), then said "unless you continue to obsess, then he will grow up thinking something is wrong with him." I told him I felt insulted, he… didn't care and continued on with his arrogance. I once again told him that I was feeling insulted and he said "well, exactly which doctor have you not had a problem with?" Once he knew I was upset, he just kept going and got more and more cocky as if he was enjoying it. The situation greatly resembled a high school bully picking on someone they felt were inferior. I am not a doctor person. I don't go and only take my children if it is affecting their every day life. I also do not obsess and was only trying to find out what was wrong with my little boy. Obviously, he had a pre established opinion of me before he walked in based on his experiences with other moms and their children. I eventually just got up and walked out because he would not stop. I have NEVER been so disrespected in my entire life. I took my son to the dermatologist and instead of focusing on the problem, he crowned himself as a self proclaimed behavioral psychologist that was completely off base, disrespectful and rude.

This is the friendliest, most caring staff of professionals I have ever seen. They are very knowledgable and do every thing they can to see that you are comfortable. Both drs. here are WONDERFUL and are very good at what they do and put you at ease so that you are actually laughing. Love and recommend this place anytime!!!!!

Dr. Dinehart is the first doctor that sat down and explained my medical condition. He is caring and compassion. He called my daughter and talked to her 20 minutes. I have never found a doctor before that would do that.

Cancer is so scary! The staff as well as Dr Dinehart calmed my fears, answered my questions and treated my husband as if he were one of their own family members! The surgery was a success and the care taken to reduce scared is very evident. I would highly recommend Dr Dinehart and if there is a reoccurence of my husband's cancer, he will be my first call! He was truly an answer to prayer!

I was diagnosed with dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans in 1997. My Dr. sent me to Dr. Dinehart for surgery to remove the cancer. Ivery scared and he sat down and took time to explain all he knewabout this cancer and about the MOHs surgery that he was goingto do. He helped to calm my fears and talked me through thewhole thing. I highly recommend him for anyone with a concern such as mine. The surgery was a success and in 2011 I am stillcancer free.
