Dr. Scott David Donofrio, MD

Dr. Donofrio is insightful and kind.

Dr. Donofrio and I have collaborated on a number of clients together. He has been an outstanding resource for our mutual clients, as well as myself. Sending my clients to someone I trust is imperative to me and my clients have consistently told me they had an outstanding experience with a doctor who listened and cared for them. He has consistently treated their psychiatric needs effectively and compassionately.

Dr. Donofrio is disarmingly empathetic, a brilliant clinician, and profoundly competent. Due to my psychiatrist retiring, I had to find a new one and Dr. Donofrio came highly recommended. He's awesome. To the idiot below: a) public discussion of your child's mental illness in a public venue and in such detail that she and her close friends can see is humiliating for your kid and a violation of her privacy -- what kind of parent does that?; b) read the JAMA, etc. studies on causes for in-network vs out-of-network participation by psychiatrists. Insurance companies are hostile to paying for treatment of mental illness, particularly difficult cases. It's a universal truth that competent behavioral health practitioners don't participate in their networks for a variety of reasons.

Dr. Donofrio has provided me with outstanding care. He is up on the latest treatments, spends time to make sure I know what I feel like I need to so I can make good decisions and participate actively in my own mental health care. He listens carefully to my symptoms and my goals for treatment, which we've been achieving. I can't say enough good things about having Dr. Donofrio as my doctor. I highly recommend him!

My child has seen Dr Donofrio for a few months now and it has been a complete waste. She has been hospitalized twice for depression a few months apart and Dr Donofrio not only finds that appropriate (look at the statistics regarding adolescent hospitalization to understand this statement) but he is completely unable to treat her in an effective manner. He is also one of the only psychiatrist that does not recommend therapy expect done by himself (interestingly he does not accept insurance...) while he is not accredited nor educated for it... Do not risk your children's health with this provider!

I would not refer my worst enemy to this arrogant, rude, condescending psychiatrist.

Dr. Donofrio shows a great deal of knowledge in his diagnosis and treatment. He displays exemplary compassion toward me as a patient. He allows me to be part of the process in determining treatment and medication. I'm very fortunate to receive his services.
