Dr. Scott Carmody Dulebohn, MD

My mom had a seizure and stopped breathing so when we got to the Hospital and she had an MRI it showed a brain tumor. She was stabilized and put into ICU where Dr. Dulebon was signed to her case and he came in the ICU room and said that there where no options for her that she wasnt going to live anyway so why put her through a surgery. Needless to say we asked him to leave and we found another Dr..

Dr. Dulebohn saved me from being crippled. My nerves were crushed and he did surgery and I am pain free. I know my limits and he told me to walk. I am so thankful for him and his staff.

This physician has ZERO bedside manner, does not care, should NOT be seeing patients and should therefore retire. Very harsh in the way he speaks, find another surgeon. He'll do more harm than good.

This Dr was asked by a physician to see my husband and he refused. He looked at my husbands MRI and said that he had to do pain management. For a Dr to diagnose a patient without actually seeing the patient is unheard of. My husbands MRI is showing disc issues that should be addressed and unfortunately the veterans uses Dr's that choose to diagnose disc issues by looking at Mri's and not the patient. Interesting, who's Mri is the doc really looking at without seeing the patient?

Most folks have the right to a second opinion, and if you've been referred to Dr. Scott Dulebohn for surgical consult, you're definitely going to want a second opinion. Here's my two cents. The man needs to retire from surgery. Every morning I'm reminded just how inept this man is as a surgeon as I watch my beloved struggle in pain as our nightmare after surgery with Dr. Dulebohn continues. I care about you my Appalachia Neighbor, and I know you're reading reviews regarding this surgeon because more than likely you or a loved one has a surgical need and you wish to know the experience of others. Our experience is a nightmare still ongoing . Do yourself a favor, avoid this Sawbones. Avail yourself instead of an opinion from Blue Ridge Neuroscience or East Tennessee Brain & Spine. If your referring physician has already charted a course for you to see this surgeon, you can simply have that changed with a phone call. Doing so may save yourself or your loved one.

Tom and Dr. Dulebohn are very professional. The staff is just awesome to deal with. I highly recommend Dr.Scott Dulebohn

I was referred to Dr. Dulebohn by my MD at Pain Management in JC, was seen in his office within two weeks and treated very courteously. The purpose of my visit was removal of a dorsal spinal stimulator that had been in since 2005 since it had reached end-of life status. I also discussed the chance that he might consider seeing me for other major Neuro problems that I continue to have despite numerous lower back surgeries and cervical surgeries. He seemed very agreeable to the possibility of accepting me as a patient but to solve one problem at a time and then discuss other issues. I had been referred to a specialist in Charlottesville, VA and made the six hour round trip once for a consultation with the MD with little results except a return visit with a complete day of tests in three months. I was upset (and tired) after the trip and attempted to find a neuro doc closer to home without any success. The docs would get records faxed to their offices, review them and all declined… to accept me as a patient with the exception of Dr. Dulebohn. I know this doesn't mean everything will work out in the future but at least he is willing to try.

Just getting an appt. was a nightmare. I specifically requested Dr. Dulebohn because he had been highly recommended by a family member. I went to my appt. thinking that was who I would be seeing. This was my 1st visit and I had a lot of questions. My MRI showed degenerative disc at L3, L4 & L5 with bulging discs at each, thickening of the ligament causing compression of the thecal sac and an annular tear at L5. I have been experiencing a great deal of pain for months. I was actually seen by one of the PAs - let me rephrase that I was visited by one of the PAs. The exam was a joke, never even looked at my back or reviewed the MRI results with me. Said it I wasn't bad enough for surgery and they were referring me to Pain Management. I felt like he thought I was a waste of his time since I wasn't a surgical patient. He was in and out of the room in less than 5 minutes. When I asked if he could at least refill my medication from my GP that since I was only given enough to last… until my appt. there he said that isn't the way they do things. I will never go back to this office. I wanted to see an actual MD and I wanted someone to discuss my issues and how we can go about treating them and what my future holds experience these problems at a young age. If you aren't interested in surgery don't go to this office - they aren't interested in helping patients.

The entire staff was rude. I waited for about an hour and a half. Then he rushed through everything. Felt like he wasn't listening to me at all. Eventually had to seek another doctor after condition worsened. He is nice talking to you and the office is clean but that is about all the good there is.
