Dr. Scott Robert Ekroth, MD

My podiatrist referred me to Dr. Ekroth to help diagnose persistent and activity limiting heel pain I've been experiencing the past 8 months. Dr. Ekroth couldn't be bothered to give my pain any serious thought. "It's Plantar Fasciitis," he said, without any investigation and ignoring that my podiatrist had thoroughly ruled out PF (dissimilar symptoms, different area of the foot, and no improvement with the conservative Plantar Fasciitis treatments I'd been trying during that time just in case). "Well, sometimes plantar fasciitis can take up to a year to heal." I told him I'm in my mid-40s and a year is a long time to wait on the off chance that my pain is caused by a condition that my symptoms suggest it is not—meanwhile risking exacerbating an injury if he is wrong. He then insinuated that I am after a quick fix and just want surgery (!?) and shrugged "I'm not a miracle worker." I'm not looking for a miracle worker. I'm looking for a DOCTOR that won't insult me and ignore my pain.

Dr. Ekroth was an excellent doctor, but his method for fixing bunions, did not work on my foot.
