Dr. Scott Sherlock Emerson, DO

Kinda runs you thru quickly, too busy on his laptop so I don't know if he heard me or not.

Dr. Emerson is wonderful! Because of elevated liver function tests, my primary doc took me off of my antidepressant all at once. This shouldn't be done!!! I hit rock-bottom within days. I called MBH and he gave me an appointment for a time he wasn't even suppose to be there! He spent an hour with me listening to what problems I'd been through and was still facing and discussing different antidepressants which were safe for my liver. He knows I'm on several pain relievers for chronic back pain and this has never been an issue. It would be inappropriate for me to ask for one and highly inappropriate for him to offer me one. You don't go to a psychiatrist to talk about your unresolved pain any more than you'd go to a dermatologist to talk about your sexual problems. If you have pain go to a pain specialist. THEN go to a psychiatrist and discuss the problems the pain has caused in your life.

When I walked in he had pulled up my record for opiates I had gotten from hospitals and drs . He assumed I was drug seeking when I had a valid reason for every prescription. No prescription overlapped. I had had broken bones, gone to specialists and seen various er drs for my hypertension and diabetes. I felt defensive and judged. If he would have taken the time to listen to me maybe the outcome, my leaving upset, would have been different. He was too busy being annoyed I wasn't going to take his"plan"for me to heart. Needless to say I will never go back there ( Meridian Health). Too bad he was so obsessed with what he thought was best instead of my opinion. And I was told my I put was nust as important as the physicians. IT WAS NOT!!!.
