Dr. Scott Allen Fields, MD

All these reviews that call Mr. Scott rude, inattentive, and unprofessional are absolutely correct. But this is not the worst thing about him. The worst thing is that he does not know what he is talking about. He does not know the qualities of some well known and widely used drugs, he is not aware of drug-drug interactions, and he is merely incapable of making a right diagnosis. Its not only useless to visit him -- its very dangerous since if you have something serious, he most likely will leave it untreated and either will tell you to wait and see how things develop or will prescribe you something that takes care of the symptoms and does not address the underlying cause. Avoid this so called "doctor" by all possible means.

I would never recommend this dr. He was rude, condescending, impatient and not thorough.

He is/was my primary care doctor and he never once listed to my lungs. I went in to see him about a Chronic Cough! I do not recommend him, plain and simple.

I've read the other reviews and I must say I am pretty surprised by the negative ones. Never have I experienced anything other than professionalism and care. Yes it can be a bit annoying to tell the students your issues before the doctor comes in, but doctors need to learn somehow, right? If there is ever a concern Dr. Fields is always assuring and honest. I know I won't get fed what I want to hear and that he has my best interest in mind. I have been seeing him as my prenatal doctor and am very excited to have him deliver my baby. I absolutely love Dr. Fields and would recommend him to anyone.

First the was an interview with the medical student. Though I realize someone has to teach the students, that interview was just too much since it took at least half an hour. Dr. Fields is unprofessional, rude, and does not address patient's concerns. As for making a diagnosis, he could not spot an obvious problem pattern on EKG. This pattern is one of the most basic and easy to notice - every medical student is required to be able to recognize it. But apparently not the experienced and high-ranking Dr. Fields. Absolutely jaw-dropping. It is puzzling and scary that a physician of such low quality is considered one of the best in town.

I have found Dr. Field to be an excellent provider of care for my geriatric mother. She is a very difficult patient, and he has handled her with grace and efficiency. His office staff are warm and friendly as well.

My visit with Dr. Fields was excellent. His student did come in and ask questions before he came to my room but he did go over the questions with me to verify what the student had passed on to him. He was very empathetic, acknowleding that I didn't feel well and they would do everything possible to change that. He took plenty of time to explain the lab work I was having done. I will definitely try to see him any time in the future.

I can't believe that this Dr. was rated "Best Doc" among his peers. He didn't even respond to my concerns of symptoms I was having. Never addressed it when I asked him, never wrote it down, he just acted like it didn't happen. His "student" at the time was completely clueless. I knew more than she did and that certaining isn't saying much. The entire expierience with unprofessional...Dr. Fields was actually yelling at an old man in the room next to mine. I left wondering what just happened? It was a complete waste of my time and money. Would never reccommend this physician

Perhaps it is just the nature of a teaching hospital, but you usually have at least 2 different medical students come in to get a history (at different times) you wait and then finally see Dr. Fields. The amount of time with his is approximately 5 minutes and the entire time you feel more like a lab rat as opposed to a human being. You often come away feeling foolish for going in with your concern.
