Dr. Scott Douglas Friedman, MD

As my cardiologist Dr. Friedman had prescribed atenol for my benign, regular, irregular heart rate. Three years ago I was recuperating from a broken hip at home. I collapsed, saw my primary physician who diagnosed Symptomatic Bradycardia and went to the ER. Cardiologist on call was an associate of Dr. Friedman's who stopped the atenol and assured me that Dr. Friedman would see me first thing Monday morning. When I called for an appointment Monday morning, no-one in the office had any information about my ER visit Friday even though I had been told that the information would be waiting for Dr. Friendman. I insisted that I needed to be seen. When I got to the office, Dr. Friedman refused to see me, passing me off to a Certified Nurse Practioner. At my insistance he finally came but stayed standing in the doorway. At that time he stated that he thought it was all right to have kept my heart rate at 44 but kept deffering to the Nurse Practioner as the person in charge. This was the… first time he had told me that my heart rate was so low. I believe fall that resulted in a broken hip was caused by blacking out due to the low heart rate. Following the unproductive visit with Dr. Friedman, I was seen by another cardiologist, affiliated with Anne Arundel Medical Center who has been in charge of my care since then. This was three years ago. I am not on any medication for this conditions.
