Dr. Scott Laurence Goffin, DO

Dr Goffin is caring, thorough and definitely not quick to cut. Getting an appointment does involve a wait, however, I was seen immediately when my complaint was thought to be serious.

Today was my first visit to a dermatologist and I didnt know what to expect.his assistant (I think morgan) and dr goffin explained everything in a way that made sense to me which is always appreciated. Despite how busy the office was I felt like took his time and genuinely cared instead of rushing to the next patient.

I came to Dr Goffin after my dermatologist could no longer work due to illness. I have always been treated with the utmost respect by he and his staff, as has my son. He has spent a lot of time examining me, removed several suspicious spots, given me guidance as to how to avoid issues that continually happen to me (without having to buy anything from him), always been good about reschedules and wait times were no longer than any other doctor in Berkshire County. Does he cut/burn more off than necessary? Maybe, but with a history of pre-cancerous lesions, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I have also been able to avoid unnecessary visits/costs by sending them a photo of rashes that randomly pop up- I get an email and phone call telling me whether it's something I need to be seen for (or not). As far as him not being able to take on new patients or referrals: welcome to the Berkshires where ALL specialists are overwhelmed and can't take more patients while still providing the rest of his… patients with quality care. Oh, and there are NO other dermatologists in B'shire county taking new patients- I know because I called ALL of them. You always have the right to say no to a procedure or medication- maybe his frustration at a 'no' is out of him trying to do what's right? Just sayin'......

The waits are very long and Dr. Goffin can be very unempathic if there is any discontent.

Dr. Goffin has saved the life of several people I know with his expertise and care. As busy as he is, he gives you his full attention when you get in to see him. And he has a delightful personality.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Goffin. He is very knowledgable and caring, a combination that is not seen with many physicians today.

The Dr. has always treated me with respect and good humour. He is a caring professional and I would highly recommend him.

Wait time atrocious. Don't schedule appointments asking people to expect to wait a completely unreasonable amount of time 1 -1.5 hours) Had skin condition around mouth area. Was told must be dry skin from winter and stop eating citrus. Thankfully, ended up seeing a better doctor who gave us a proper diagnosis and proper medication.

I have to rate him to post a review and since I never got to see him I can't say - that is why the one star. I called to make an appointment as a new patient and the nurse said he is overwhelmed and can't take on any new patients - I asked for a referral and she could offer me no referral. It would be nice to find a good doctor in the area. Please update his status to say not accepting new patients. Thank you.

Dr. Goffin saved my life! He biopsied a spot on my leg which indeed was Melanoma!! I have a tendancy to worry about everything. I worry about worrying!! He and his staff have been so good, kind and caring to me. I am so very grateful to have him as my dermatologist.
