Dr. Scott T Hollenbeck, MD

Doctor was great! He introduced my to his staff when he entered the room and asked it it was ok that they were present in the room. He went thru my medical history and asked questions. We discussed the problems I have been having and the options available to take care of the problem. He explained the procedure and recovery process. He answered all my questions in a manner that I could understand. Also, I have a special needs son that was with me at my appointment. The Doctor and his entire staff were very accommodating and friendly with my son.

Dr. Hollenbeck really took the time to explain the procedure and discuss any concerns I had. He was very thorough, which I so appreciated.

I was given multiple options for treatment, which was nice. I had been to a previous doctor who dismissed my concerns which is how I ended up at UVA. It was nice to be listened to and offered more than one solution.

Explained treatment options he could provide for me and answered all my questions in a very down to earth matter that was easy to understand with a truly genuine empathy.

Dr. Hollenbeck partnered with the oncology surgeon on my mastectomy in 2014 at Duke Cancer Center. He put in the initial tissue expander, and later, an implant. He treated me kindly and patiently indulged the posse that accompanied me to all our visits. I felt heard always, and never felt rushed. When it's time for me to replace the implant, I will look for him!

Unfortunately I've decided not to consult with Dr. Hollenbeck despite his outstanding reviews. A PA Crystal within his group was evasive, disingenuous and insensitive during an initial phone conversation. Speaking with her was like listening to canned promotional tape for the Duke Plastic Surgery department.

Dr. Hollenbeck, along with his surgical team, are the best. He has excellent bedside manner and takes his time with each individual person (I dont say 'case' because they never treat you anything less than the person you are.) His surgical results are AMAZING. I have some of the best results from a profalactic double mastectomy than anyone anyone else I know. I feel comfortable knowing that he'll do his best to get the greatest cosmetic outcome. Office staff is very personal and if they cannot answer the phone right away, they still get back in touch with you within an hour or so. Excellent communication. I highly recommend Dr. Scott Hollenbeck. Hes been good to both myself and my family throughout everything.

Aimed for as close to perfection as possible with my reconstruction. It's hard to feel like a woman after breast cancer and he aimed to give me back as much confidence in my appearance as possible.
