Scott Hubosky, MD

My experience with Dr. Scott G. Hubosky was infuriating. I came in with a non-obstructive 9 mm kidney stone and a very clear objective: address the stone proactively while my insurance out-of-pocket maximum was already met, and determine why I form stones so I could prevent more. Instead of taking the time to understand those priorities, Dr. Hubosky spent the appointment trying to talk me out of treatment. He repeatedly emphasized how invasive and uncomfortable the procedure would be, including describing the cameras, tubes, and stent involved. I understand that this is part of informed consent. What I object to is using those details primarily as a deterrent rather than having a serious conversation about my goals, the tradeoffs, and the available options. I listened to his advice. I understood the risks. I still made it clear that I wanted to move forward. Rather than respecting that informed decision, the conversation continued to feel dismissive and obstructive. He then… recommended metabolic testing to determine why my stones are forming, presenting that as the more appropriate path. The test kit was never sent, and I found no indication that it was even ordered. So after all of the resistance to removing the existing stone, there was also no follow-through on the alternative he recommended. The outcome was exactly nothing: no action on the 9 mm stone, no preventive testing, no proactive plan, and no meaningful attempt to solve the problem. A doctor’s role is to advise, explain risks, and make recommendations. It is not to disregard a competent patient’s informed decision because it differs from the doctor’s preference. I left feeling unheard, managed, and completely unsupported. I am now requesting all of my records and imaging so I can seek a second opinion from a physician who is actually interested in working with me to solve the problem.

Speaks respectively with patient, spends time explaining details as well as making certain patient and family understands steps. Office staff is "reachable" friendly, cooperative. Top Surgeon and will highly recommend to anyone with serious urinary problems.

Dr Hubosky is a great doctor. His bedside manner is great and he is very knowledgable and shares that wisdom in a very understandable way. If they could get the wait time down, it would be appreciated, but it's not always bad.
