Dr. Scott K Mayhew, MD

Dr Mayhew diagnosed and treated my compression fracture and bulging discs. He explained options clearly, didn’t rush and has helped me manage the pain. His nurse Terry is also great.

Dr. Mayhew is part of Carolina Health Specialists and was referred to me by my primary care physician who is part of the same practice. I’ve been very impressed with the patient portal and the communication, expertise and friendliness among the doctors, nurses and staff, as well as with their response time being so prompt.

I was checking through health grades to try and find a decent dr who could help me with my leg and hip. After reading some of This dDrs. Reviews I called to make an appointment. No appointment without a referral even though I told the woman I had just moved back here not to long ago and hadnt set up with a primary care dr. Etc. That I have my medical history. I know if I need to see someone. I cant believe the rudeness of this person even their automated system voice sounds extremely rude. I should not have to pay to see one dr in order to ser another. Especially when I know what I need to see a Dr. For and in this case it's to see someone with an orthopedic osteoarthritis background. What a bunch of crap. Make you spend double just to be seen or accepted as a patient?? No way would I ever go here now. Money grubbing racket beware.

He under stands how I feel..

I was referred to Dr. Mayhew by my PCP for a pain in my left hip. I had x-rays which showed “normal” and an MRI on my lower back which showed issues with my back, but nothing on the hip. When I saw Dr Mayhew, he told be I had bursitis in my hip and suggested a cortisone shot. Not only did he give me an answer about the pain, he offered a solution. I got the shot two weeks ago and my hip has been good. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous about the shot, but his nurse, Terry was excellent and had me relaxed while she explained it all. Thank you both!

Dr. Mayhew is excellent ,he takes time to explain your options . He listens to your needs . He has my complete confidence!

I met with Dr. Mayhew to review my pain, etc., and listen to his review, after MRI, and what he can do to relieve my pain level. After 4 diagnostic consultation appointments and 2 actual treatments, I am almost pain free. The treatments for me last appx. 1-1/2 years. George Asteris

I have been seeing Dr. Mayhew on a regular basis to receive cortisone shots in my back & hands. I have herniated disks in my back & arthritis in my hands & deal with extreme pain. He & his assistant are always pleasant and put you at ease when administering the injections. I highly recommend him for anyone dealing with extreme pain.
