Dr. Scott Joseph McKnight, MD

Dr. Scott J. McKnight, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in general ophthalmology, cataract and lens implant surgery, medical retina (including diabetic eye disorders), eyelid surgery, and glaucoma. He is known for premier no‑stitch, no‑patch cataract and lens implant procedures that emphasize rapid recovery and excellent visual outcomes.

Dr. McKnight earned his medical degree and completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Nebraska Medical School in Omaha, then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri–Columbia. He began performing refractive surgery in 1989—starting with radial keratotomy—and was among the first surgeons in the Kansas City area to offer laser photorefractive surgery and Conductive Keratoplasty.

Active in the development and research of new implants and surgical techniques, Dr. McKnight trains surgeons from around the world in advanced cataract procedures and was the first surgeon in the country …to place the newest multifocal implant.
