Dr. Scott Douglas Mclean, MD

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Scott McLean attended Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, and taught high school English before attending medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. During 26 years on active duty in the United States Army, Dr. McLean completed residency training in Pediatrics at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA, and a fellowship in Clinical Genetics at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Much of his military career involved direct patient care and teaching as a core faculty member of several pediatric residency programs. In addition, Colonel McLean served as Consultant to the Army Surgeon General for Clinical Genetics and represented the Department of Defense on a number of national committees, including the ACMG Expert Group on Newborn Screening and the Secretary's Advisory Committee on Genetics, Health, and Society.
