very displeased with communication from Dr. Michener. Nursing staff tlles me one thing and Dr. tells me different.

First visit was told stone was too large to pass but take this medicine and wait two weeks to see if it passes, when lithotripsy procedure was explained to me, I was horrified. I asked about a procedure where something could be inserted through urethra, break up stone and pull it out. Nurse told me NO. There was no procedure. I had the lithotropsy. I came out of procedure with three open wounds on my side, bruised and very sore. Was told everything went well. Two weeks later, going in for post op check up, I had x-rays. Went up stairs for appointment. Once again Dr. in not in office and unavailable for texting. Nurse tells me the stone is still there. Same size. Same place. WHAT!?!? Nurse showed me the x-rays of before and after. Yep, there it is. She says lets wait two weeks and see what happens. No, unacceptable. She says,,, well we can try the lithotropsy again. No, unacceptable. It didn't work the first time why would we think it would work this time. She… replied that maybe the first procedure may have softened it up. I was highly upset. She informed me that she would get in touch with the Dr. and someone would call me later. When a nurse called later in the afternoon she once again opted for another lithotripsy procedure. When I firmly rejected this option she said that there was a second option. She explained that they could go up through the urethra, break up the stone and pull it out. WHAT!?!? This was the procedure I asked for in the first visit and was told no.Still had to wait two week for the cystoscopy. When waiting for procedure in my cubicle at hospital, Dr Michener comes in. I asked him why i couldn't get the cystoscoipy the first time, he informed me that the stone was too high in the beginning but has since migrated down far enough that it now can be reached with the laser, and quickly left the room. Wait,, the nurse showed me the x-rays and told me that the stone was in the same place. Which is it.???? Lies. Shame I would very much like to hear back from someone in hospital who oversees such behavior.
