Because of a multitude is sprains since the age of six, now I can barely walk bcz the pain is so severe in my rt.foot and ankle. The pain even traveled up my calf. After having staff take the x-rays (which I was not shown), Dr. Nelson said I have bone spurs in my rt.ankle and that there is nothing to be done about it. I asked about pain relief; he advised ibuprofen. However, I'm allergic - hives. He then said, "We don't prescribe narcotics." Shocked, I expressed my insult, and listened intently as he quickly apologized while back-pedaling. I went on to ask about a cortisone injection bcz I know of others who have had an injection in their knee or shoulder. He agreed it could help, and it did. FAST FORWARD 3 MONTHS: Based on the way I was treated, obviously I decided on a different orthopedist. This Dr. showed me the x-rays that had been taken at Nelson's office 3mo prior. There was absolutely NO CARTILAGE left in my rt.ankle; it's bone-on-bone. It's no wonder there were bone spurs.… Bcz of this new Dr., I now have a solution for the present, and a plan for the future. I would never recommend Dr.Nelson bcz his professionalism and experience went sideways in too many directions in just one visit. Today, I am planning for an ankle arthroplasty -- with a competent doctor, of course, NOT Dr.Nelson.
