Dr. Scott Alan Nesbitt, MD

My wife was referred to Dr. Nesbitt through a list from her health care system. As soon as we got married and she moved to the area, we set up an appointment with him not knowing what to expect. I looked him up online and saw a few good reviews about the Dr. himself, but also some negative reviews about dealing with his office staff. We went to our first appointment and it seemed to go fairly well. One odd thing had stuck out to us though. The reception area was vacant and there were multiple signs on the window saying, “Do not tap on the glass!! Write your name in the guest log and sit down!” We received a call the next day because they had forgotten to have my wife sign a release form so that she could get the referral she needed for her life sustaining treatment that she needs every 7 weeks. So, we immediately dropped everything in the middle of our day to drive to the office to sign the form. When we arrived the reception area was still vacant, so there was no way to actually… let anyone know we were there. We signed the guest log and waited until eventually a nurse came out for one of the other patients. We flagged her down and she got one of the other people in the office to hand us the form. As my wife was signing it I respectfully asked how we should get someone’s attention in the future since they had no one manning the reception desk, no bell, and didn’t want anyone tapping on the window. She replied that the door is squeaky and so they know when people come in. I asked how they would know whether it was someone with a scheduled appointment that can wait or someone with some other issue. She replied that that’s just the system they have. I respectfully informed her that their office already had bad reviews for customer service; therefore, they might want to think about changing their system. Then, paperwork completed, we left. We got a call later the same day from Dr. Nesbitt who said that he heard there was a problem in the office earlier. I explained what had happened, and that in the many doctors’ offices we had been to we had never seen one without an actual receptionist before. I respectfully explained that I had also worked in offices before and had to man the reception desk while having other work to do, so I know what that is like and can sympathize, but without a receptionist patients aren’t able to ask simple, important questions or know that they are actually going to be cared for. He got very angry and defensive (maybe because he’s dealt with this complaint a lot? I don’t know.), and replied to me that if I didn’t like the system that we should just part ways and find another doctor. So, now, in the middle of my wife needing to get her time sensitive, life sustaining treatment we need to find another doctor who doesn’t get angry and drop patients who respectfully ask questions and address legitimate concerns with patient care. I suggest you look elsewhere for a doctor who actually cares about their patients and doesn’t treat them like annoying peasants.

He is the best

I have been seeing Dr. Nesbitt for seven years as my primary care physician. He has been wonderful! He is a rare doctor, he takes time to listen to your concerns, suggests various tests, home remedies and really thinks about your overall health to help you improve it. I had horrible stomach pain for two years and went to numerous doctors. I was beginning to think it was in my head, but Dr. Nesbitt ordered a test that others hadn't bothered to do before because they never tool the time and he discovered I had 0% function of my gall bladder. He is an excellent and caring physician and even if I moved away I would still include Dr. Nesbitt in my healthcare. Highly recommend.

Dr. Nesbitt is very gentle and I believe is also very religious. I feel good about going to him. He doesn't shy away from referring you to specialists either.
