Dr. Scott Andrew Noren

I was referered to Dr. Noren for multiple extractions. Unfortunately, I have a serious phobia of being in any kind of medical or dental situation. I have no idea why or where it came from and because of that my dental care has been sporadic at best. Dr. Noren's office was scheduling out into May. I had made multiple calls to many other oral surgeons and nobody could get me in even though it was emergency. At the end of the day, there were no appointments to be had and I was on every cancellation list in Ithaca and Cortland. However, the very next day Dr. Noren's office had a cancellation. After a small amount of confusion the day of, I arrived a little late. However, they took me right in. As I mentioned I have a phobia. Sometimes doctors or dentist don't understand what it's so scary...Sometimes I don't either but It affects every part of me. Even before my procedure started the support staff and nurses were so professional and sweet. Nurse Michelle was doing everything… she could do to calm me down. She dimmed the lights put sunglasses on me , let my husband into the room and actually was giving me a back rub, Dr. Noren couldn't have been more informative and understanding as well. I want to thank everyone in that office. The receptionist Heidi. She Got me in on the fly to a dental office that was booking almost 3 months in advance. Michelle thank you for your kindness and your ability to deal with my problems and juggle good dental care and direction coming from the doctor and his assistant. That can't be easy. And it can't be said enough. Though there is a level of care...a high standard patients want you to achieve, and by all means it should be achieved but there are so many outside circumstances that can change things. In my case, you all were lovely. smiles on faces, kindness in your words and a feeling of genuine care for your patients. And though this is medical field customer service is so so important. I felt totally taken care of in this office.

Instead of doing my extraction, which I was referred for, I spent over an hour listening to this dentist/politician upsell implants and blah blah. Luckily, in less than an hour this morning, I had the tooth extracted by a fantastic dentist.

Dr. Noren recently saw my husband for a wisdom tooth extraction. Two weeks after the surgery, he was complaining of gum pain around the surgery site. Upon contacting the office and speaking to Dr. Noren, he refused to take time to see my husband, or call in antibiotics! Dr. Noren's bedside manor is atrocious, and we are shocked at the lack of concern!

I went to see Dr. Noren on consultation and he explained everything very thoroughly. After the surgery I had minimal discomfort and he called me the night of the surgery top check up on me. Excellent care!

My daughter had oral surgery today and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr.Noren was also great ,he took the time to explain things and answer any questions I had. He was very pleasant. I really felt like he cared , he even called to check on her this evening and see how she was doing. (Only thing is they need to change waiting room music lol)

Overall I would not give this Dr. a positive review. There was constant fighting among the dentist and his assistances while working over me which made me feel very uncomfortable and I did not feel like the surgeon really cared at all about what he was doing. Maybe he had bigger, better plans? A follow up to the surgery would have been nice as well. Two stars,
