Dr. Scott J Primack, DO

I made an appointment with Dr. Primack and was told he accepts my Aetna insurance. When I checked in today I was told there was copay but they weren't sure how much it was. I asked the person at the front desk if they could call Aetna while I was in the exam room and I would pay the copay on my way out. Dr. Primack came into the exam room and told me he that he would give me an ultrasound today and see me next week for treatment. 5 minutes later someone walked into the room where I was being consulted by a medical student and told me they don't accept my insurance plan and I would have to pay cash today if I wanted an ultrasound. This was after Dr. Primack whined to me that the insurance industry was screwing him over. Before I made my appointment I contacted Aetna and they confirmed the Dr. Primack's practice accepted my Aetna insurance. Now I understand why he is so poorly rated by his patients.

Not an advocate for the patient & will lie to save his poor relationship with insurance companies. Overcharges & gives barbaric tests that have not been used in years. He is not up to date in current medicine nor does he have the patient's best interest in mind. Just his wallet.

This practice (CROM) tried to bill me and my insurance company over $3k for an ultrasound on a potential muscle tear. This ultrasound typically costs a couple hundred bucks and took all of 5min to complete. They also charged over $1k combined for 2 (before and after) consultations that took a max of 15min of their time. The insurance company denied the claim(s) and called me for more details on the procedure. When I explained my injury and the procedure, the insurance company then went back to CROM explaining that they grossly overcharged for the procedure based on what the contracted rates allow as an 'in-network' provider. Either the CROM billing department messed up, or they are clearly trying to scam the insurance company and/or myself to pay outrageous costs. Doctors like these play a big part in rising insurance costs. Stay away or at the very least make sure they give you procedure codes and costs up front. Outside of the billing issue, the practice and doctors are overly… busy and/or just didn't seem to care much about my injury, clearly trying to end the consultations as quick as possible. They also made me schedule the before/after consultations for the ultrasound which took multiple weeks to schedule and allowed them to bill for more visits. Considering these conversations were 10min or less, they could have easily just discussed on the same day rather having me schedule follow-up appointments.

For those of you that are treating through wc, beware that Primack will twist everything you divulge to him and use it against you to negate your need for medical care. He tries to act as though he has your best interest at heart, but he doesn't. He works for insurers and doesn't care about your well being. He presents you as a liar, when all the while, he is the LIAR!!

He will lie. He will refuse to diagnose or treat. He will tell you nothing is wrong even when surgery is indicated. Awful doctor: he had a poor reputation among other doctors as well.

Dr Primack is very thorough, asks many pertainant questions, is patient, listens well, and is friendly. He gives you the feeling of confidence in using his services.

Dr. Scott Primack starts off pretty likable, but the only thing he ends up really liking is the money he gets from insurance companies (especially workers' comp) - after he gives you minimal treatment and evaluation, much less pain control he magically states you can't get better and he's done with you. Lots of expletives could be used to describe his crooked nature and involvement with insurance companies
