Dr. Scott Kirschner Radow, MD

My mother was taken to the er and put on life support for end stage emphysema. Dr.Radow performed a tracheotomy. He had a horrible attitude and basically said we needed to let my mother go and there was nothing else we could do for her. They gave her fentanyl, morphine, propofol and geodon. I demanded that they take her off all of the sedatives. Her head would thrash back and forth and the nurses stated that she was showing signs of brain damage. I finally demanded that she be moved out of A well know hospital that he practiced at. They informed me that the only place to take her was a long term care facility. I was reluctant to have her moved to this facility but felt this was my only choice. As soon as she arrived at the long term care facility the doctors agreed to remove her from all medications. Within 3 days she was awake and alert but her head was still moving back and forth. We were told that this was a common side effect of geodon. Within a week the head twitches stopped.… Unfortunately due to the high amounts of sedatives this caused her not be able to move her arms and legs. 3months later she did regain movement in her left arm and a little movement in her right arm but never in her legs. This doctor did not care about my mother or my family. Terrible bed side manor and a horrible experience for my family. If they would have taken her off the sedatives as soon as I had asked things could have been different. She had never been treated like this at a different hospital about 10 minutes away. I asked Radow how could things be so different between the 2 hospitals and he stated because I am in charge here. Be very careful if you hv an elderly family under his care. I would even demand a different doctor. In the end my mother passed away but not with out 6 months of his office calling me to try and continually schedule my mother appointments.. when she had passed!

Dr. Radow surprised me, my Mom's friend has been seeing him for years. I was very nervous going into see him but very relieved coming out. He is very knowledgeable. Dr. Radow is quite possibly the worst doctor you could have in a critical situation. He is severely lacking in compassion and speaks horribly to the family members of elderly and critically ill patients. He has one foot out the door before he enters your room and is not interested in answering any question. This was a life or death situation and speaking unprofessionally about the other doctors consulting on the case. I.e. cardiologists and neurosurgeons. His bedside manner is borderline negligent and has zero compassion for his elderly patients, nor their family. I feel very sorry for any other families stuck with him in a critical, life or death medical scenario. He speaks to family members as if you arent worth his time. Hes repeatedly will inform you that other patients are more ill than your family member (while her condition is considered life threatening (bleeding brain). He is just arrogent and has zero compassion.

I feel sorry for any unknowing patient and family members of patients that are treated by this MD. He has absolutely no urgency, even in very critical situation. He had zero compassion, his bedside manner is severely disheartening, borderline abusive to the family who had questions regarding a critically severe patient. He speaks negatively of other doctors, including Neurosurgeons and is really lacking in professionalism.

I have worked in the medical proffesion for a long time. One doc that I worked for wouldnt allow his patients to see anyone but dr. Radow. I found out why a few years ago when my mom got really sick. She was hospitalized for two weeks and doctors were baffled as to the cause of her ailment. Dr. R saw her and had her diagnosed (correctly) in five minutes. Three days later she was well and at home. And I found his bedside manner to be wonderful. All of my previous patient loved him! If it werent for him my mom might not be here.

Went to Radow in 2007 after lung cancer detected on MRI ordered by Family Physician. Told my wife (77) that by reason of her age and history survival was unlikely, surgery could be terminal and even ifshe survived operation chemo or radiation would be devastating .Offered no hope. Surgeon removed 3 cm tumor from lung that wasfully encapsulated and required no follow-up treatment. Five yearslater she's doing fine. Radow most insensitive doctor we have everencountered...and there have been many. A disgrace to the profession.
