Dr. Scott Stephen Shapiro, MD

After going to therapy for the past two years to treat my issues, mainly depression, my therapist and I decided it was time to see a psychiatrist to see if medication was an option and Dr. Shapiro was recommended. I could not be happier with my decision. Dr. Shapiro, through thorough questioning and attentive listening, was able to hone in on my problem during our first session and prescribed me the right medications. Since I first saw Dr. Shapiro two months ago, I feel so much better. I feel more confident in myself and less anxious. I highly recommend Dr. Shapiro to anyone who is having trouble with depression and/or anxiety. He is an excellent physician.

If you are lucky enough to make it into Dr. Shapiro's office you will understand when I say Dr. Shapiro is amazing. For over 30 years I struggled with so many challenges and difficulties that related to having ADD. (gambling addictions, divorce and intense anxiety to mention a few).Half way into our session he said, with his caring voice "I believe you have ADD and have no idea how you coped so long without addressing it" I have no idea how he saw it so quickly having seem so many different doctors for years telling me II was hyperactive, had a learning disability, and obsessive compulsive etc.... He cares enough to listen and ask specific questions, but also actively communicate his conclusions and take action to help . He changed my life. I believe if you meet him you will understand what I am talking about: Its not just business for him, he truly loves what he does helping people, and he knows his stuff also. That is something almost impossible to find these… days. There is no way I will ever be able to thank him enough. There are a ton of doctors out there, but no one I've come across as amazing as him. I have met many psychiatrists but none measure up to Dr. Shapiro. The combination of warm bed side manner, compassion, and listening skills make him a superb psychiatrist. His recommendations have immensely improved my quality of life.
