Dr. Shay earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis, and his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine. He interned at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland prior to completing residencies there and at Stanford University. Board certified, he served fellowships in interventional radiology at Baylor University in Texas and interventional neuroradiology at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. Dr. Shay came to Colorado from Hawaii, where he had established a specialized practice in interventional neuroradiology and served as medical director of Neurosurgical Surgery at The Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. His medical interests, which include the advanced care of cerebral aneurysms and stroke, are complemented by personal interests in hiking, traveling and reading. He joined the InterMountain Neurosurgery team in mid-2012.
