Dr. Scott Oakley Trerotola, MD

I had a very difficult procedure and was told Dr. Trerotola was able to successfully complete it when almost any other Dr. would not have been successful. FOr that I am grateful and he earns a 5 star review. I reaad with surprise some of the reviews critical of his bedside manner. To be honest, I did not have much interaction with him. I believe that in the relationship between the primary caregiver and the patient good communication is key. But when it comes to a highly technical skill set I think one should be more interested in the technical ability of the provider and not the bedside manner. I liken it to a fighter pilot. A fighter pilot should be overly confident and think they are, without doubt, the best person for the job. If they don't feel that way I would question their fitness for th job at hand. When you have a technically difficult procedure the confidence of the provider in their ability to get the job done is far more important to me in whether or not… they are someone I would enjoy having a beer with! This is especially true given that techincially demanding procedures can be difficult to communicate to a layman. That communication problem can be excacerbated by the fact that a pre-emminent technician, like Dr. Trerotola has tremendous demands on his time and the issue of communication can be handled by others> That being said, in the brief conversation I had with him the Dr. was courteous, clearly knoweldgeable and at the top of the game and, most of all he insipred confidence that he could get the difficult job done. And he did!

I had to have a rare and challenging test, and Dr. T was my selection based on his extensive knowledge of this condition and test. Others who went to lesser physicians had to have the test repeated. He got it done in one shot, and he was professional and polite. He isn't a warm fuzzy kind of guy, but he knows his stuff and treats patients and families with respect. Two thumbs up!

Dr Trerotola is a phenomenal physician. He is far beyond technically proficient. He is at the very top of all other physicians in his field. I suffered from a very rare disorder, requiring a procedure that no one else could do. He used a device (that he invented) to resolve the problem & save my life. He treated me in a kind & caring way. Perhaps other reviewers mistake his quiet, serious nature for rudeness. He is far from rude. He is serious & he is all business. And why shouldn't he be? Personally, I prefer to place my life in the hands of someone at the very top of their profession. Who cares if they give out hugs & warm fuzzies. Just make me better!! My family & I are FOREVER grateful to Dr Trerotola & his IR staff.

Dr. Trerentola did what our NJ doctor couldn't do: He retrieved his embedded IVC. He took time wih our family and all the questions we had. His staff was responsive and caring. After surgery he spent time with us again answering more questions and consulting with our NJ doctor. We are very pleased with Dr. T and his staff.

had to wait to see this guy then he treated me with such distain. Like I was wasting his time and he had more important things to do. Doesn't explain well talks a bunch of medical lingo and when I asked him to explain it in terms my wife and I could understand he just looked at us making us feel like we were idiots. We aren't doctors and believe me this doc has no bedside manner at all.

Dr. Trerotola is among the smartest and most polite docs i have had. I have no clue what the 2 previous reviewers were complaining about. Given the breadth of Dr. T's expertise, he sees the full spectrum of patients. I must observe that in the waiting room and holding area, even us fellow patients were quite annoyed by the few dumb patients who came in with very strong senses of entitlement.

don't go to this guy unless you want to be treated like you are some kind of idiot. He is arrogant as all get out. Thinks he is God..no on really cares what he invented.

Rudest doctor I ever had the miss pleasure of meeting. Rude and acts like he knows everything. Doesn't explain anything. Has no manners at all.
