Dr. Sean Patrick Caufield, MD

Dr. Sean Caufield was my doctor all the way back in 2017 when he worked at Portsmouth Naval and because of him I have been in remission. When he left the hospital he placed a note in my chart that I needed to have surgery as soon as I could after giving birth to my son. I did and I could not thank him enough for everything he did for me. His bedside manner was amazing and wish he would come back to VA. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR EVERYONE

Nice and personable. He listened to all my concerns, even though I was referred for a specific condition. He is very thorough. The office staff are also pleasant and respond to messages quickly. Overall pleased with this experience.

Dr. Caufield goes out of his way for me, even taking the time to personally call me. He is the most caring doctor I have ever met!

Great and personable doc.

Ya know, I wanted to believe that he was genuinely trying to be present with me, but ya the whole thing felt rushed. I.e. he has way too many patients to see so he ain't got real time to spend with me or anyone for that matter. Got to money to make ya know? He asked me questions that genuinely puzzled and annoyed me. Questions he should have known the answer to. 3 weeks ago this man was supposed to do a colonoscopy for me, it did not happen, but still he asks me if I have ever had one! So I am 100% he did not even bother looking at my chart because had he done that he would know that no, I have never had one, and he was supposed to do one for me but it did not happen, he would also I am sure be reminded of how he was talked to by an ER doc about my situation 3 weeks ago that prompted the colonoscopy appt that never happened at which time I am certain he would have been told that another GI doctor who was consulted said it is likely I have Crohns. This guy the entire appt, which was… maybe 15 minutes, repeatedly dismissed symptoms he himself asked me about as nothing and like they had nothing to do with a very likely potential diagnosis of Crohns which was said by the way because the other doctor looked at my CT scan that had been done at the ER and ya Crohns can be diagnosed by CT scan. Ct scan is highly accurate for diagnosing Crohns, I bet he does not even know that. I told him about symptoms that are ongoing that I am sorry I doubt are an infection as he mentioned. An infection would cause me to be really sick, which I have not been. Like at all. Symptoms that have been going on for a couple of years now. I also want to say how annoyed I was at how fast the appt went and how rushed it felt because I drove 30 minutes to this appt and 30 minutes back home and why? For a lousy 15 minute thing that frankly could have been done on the phone or virtually on video. Waste of my time. Not impressed at all.

Dr. Caufield is amazing person who takes the time with you and he listens to what is wrong and he said that "we" need to fix the problem with the patient. I'm happy that he's One of my favorite people 'Doctor' thanks for your help with my stomach.

Excellent interaction and very good suggestions as well as follow up tests that make sense!

Dr Caufield took time to thoroughly review my test results and talked at length about his findings and how to proceed. I didn’t feel rushed and was very satisfied with the appointment

I was able to see Dr Caufield on short notice and he was able to setup procedure the next day..

Dr. Caufield is friendly and thorough. He doesn't rush through the appointment. He gives you the time you need. I can't ask for a better experience. I highly recommend Dr. Caufield without hesitation.
