Dr. Sean Gerard Downing, MD

Dr. Sean Downing is a wonderful physician as well as person. He never rushes through your appointments and asks many questions and listens to what you have to say. I couldn’t be happier with Doc Downing and his staff. They are always available to answer questions or concerns. Excellent practice.

I was with my General Practitioner for 17 years. I was having severe anxiety after two failed jaw surgeries. I tried explaining to my GP how this was causing me severe anxiety and he continued to say “you will get through this”. After several more attempts with my GP, I went to see a Psychiatrist and after my second visit she said you don’t need me you need a new Doctor and that’s when she said have you heard of Concierge Medicine, I was somewhat familiar with it and she referred me to Sean Downing and Sarasota Personal Medicine. Dr. Downing has been amazing and the rest is history. It may not be affordable for some people but it completely changed my life. I would highly recommend Dr. Downing, I feel he really cares about keeping me alive...

Dr Downing understands the importance of treating the whole person: body mind and soul. He is smart and kind. An amazing human being!

I have been a patient for two years and am very impressed by the quality of care and follow up I have received. Dr Downing takes the time to listen.

Would give a zero star if I could. Husband's white blood cell count kept going up, up, up. He went to the VA for his FIRST visit and the Doc there said he suspected Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia - he was right! Husband went back to Downing and Downing said "I'm surprised you came back to me, if I were you I wouldn't have." Downing said he meant to suggest further tests, but the paper work got lost somewhere and he forgot about it. Went to Fl Cancer Specialists and Moffit and after chemo and multiple tests - now in remission. We now have a new doctor!

Excellent doctor, recently had a physical exam and he explained everything and mapped out follow up with specialists as needed. Also had an emergency medical situation, called him and had me pre-admitted to emergency room and followed up at hospital with my care.

Dr D was wonderful when my husband was hospitalized with a serious condition, helped get all the specialists together for an important consult. Strongly recommend him....great knowledge and caring.

Dr. Downing is a very intelligent, well educated and trained internist. He diagnosed on a n initial visit for an issue, on two separate occasions my problem, made the appropriate treatment plan which only required one follow up visit to adjust medication. The conditions were picked up quickly and promptly correctly treated.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sean Downing for over five years. Dr. Downing is an excellent doctor. He listens to his patients, and explains his recommendations. I am 100 percent satisfied with Dr. Downing. We have recommended him to several friends, and they are also pleased with his service. He has an excellent educational background and experience.

My wife and I have been patients of Dr Downing and have found him to be excellent at both diagnosing and treating illnesses over the last 7 years. He is careful, considerate, and always follows up with patients. He is on top of things and doesn't let them develop into major problems. He takes the time to listen to problems.
