Dr. Seema Marcus Ahluwalia

If your doctor can't write a prescription for a thyroid biopsy so that Simon Med will do it, should you continue with her services? I would think not. I had that situation today and was told when they tried to reach out to her office the office did not respond. Well, after getting up and driving to an appointment to have service denied, I decided to post this so that others will avoid this less than expert physician who wouldn't be trustworthy to deal with thyroid cancer if it her diagnosed. Am going instead to Mayo in Rochester.

Dr. Ahluwalia is one of the rudest physicians I have ever visited, my first visit I waited 1.5hrs in the exam room for her to come in, spend 3 minutes w/ me which consisted of checking boxes in the computer, no physical exam done (even though I was there d/t finding nodules on my thyroid), no eye contact, she interrupted me every time I started to describe my symptoms to get her boxes of listed symptoms checked off, & she brought a medical student in with her- never introduced her- until I finally asked "Who are you?" (I don't mind students, but don't bring someone else into the room where I am giving my personal info & not introduce them). My second visit was a repeat of the first, she gave me the results of my ultrasound- I asked for a written copy of the report- it did not match what she had told me. This time she brought an NP in w/ her, never introduced her again until I asked, again no exam. She never even ordered a thyroid panel with my labs, just a TSH- you can't tell anything… from that alone. I was then scheduled for a fine needle aspiration. I went to the appointment & they said they had to cancel it because the nodules weren't big enough, they said they called her office to notify her & spoke w/ her MA Jessica- yet her MA never called me to let me know the test was cancelled, so I missed a day of work, took PTO, drove an hour to the appointment for nothing- just in time to drive home in rush hour. I had to rearrange a lot for that appointment. Then when I called the Jessica to find out why no one had let me know the test was cancelled she interrupted & started yelling at me & was extremely unprofessional. I had to then call the office manager to complain- which I'm sure did not good & was probably a waste of my time. I am a nurse & it drives me insane when doctors, medical assistants, & even other nurses don't realize that they are in the customer service business. Sure we are healthcare workers but in the end we are providing a service to customers & our patients deserve good service & for their provider to listen & address their concerns & symptoms. I STRONGLY urge you to find a different practice, this doctor & her staff do not care about what they do, how they treat patients, or whether your time is wasted- the first visit, while I sat in the exam room for 1.5hrs, I listened to her go in & out of about 7-8 rooms, do you know how much she is charging for those 3 minutes she is spending w/ each patient? That is all they care about. Do not waste your time with this practice, you are not really even treated as a human.??

AZ Endocrine is a very busy practice. The Physician Assistant(s) are wonderful. Dr. Seema Ahluwalia is very knowlegible and thorough. I feel that my health care needs are addressed efficiently. The staff are competent and friendly.

Dr. Seema Ahluwalia is a horrible Dr!!! I waited over 2 hours, while she met with pharmaceutical reps., and had several training doctors following her around. She overbooks as evidenced by her overflowing waiting room. I would never go back or recommend this doctor!!!

This is an excellent we'll run practice. Dr. Ahluwalia is highly competent and one of the most caring and considerate physicians I have seen.. She took extra time to explain what tests were needed and why. I would recommend Dr. Ahluwalia. Her office staff is just as competent.

Dr. Aluwalia is very thorough and her staff is very helpful. The Dr. cared about my whole health, not just her specialty.

She is too busy to spend any time with her patients

Waited 2 1\2 hours never saw anyone

I went to see Dr Ahluwalia on referral, I must admit I was hesitant but the reviews that are not good are from years ago, so I took a chance and I am glad I did. She is very interested and provided relief from my allergies with testing and is helping me lower my blood sugars and cholesterol. Great doc! Staff nice.
