Dr. Seema V Byahatti, MD

Dr. Byahatti performed surgery on my vocal chords in 2010 to repair an injury. I got my voice back and have not had any problems since. My experience was all very positive.

I find Dr. Byahatti to be very professional and caring. I had significant hearing loss in my mid-thirties. She listened to my concerns, did a thorough evaluation, sent me for further tests especially due to my young age and was overall a great doctor to see for an alarming issue.

I had bleeding in my ear that was caused by a cholesteatoma, which is an ingrown skin mastoid behind the ear drum. Initially I went to the emergency room, and they missed it and even prescribed the wrong antibiotic. Fortunately they also referred me to a specialist. Dr. Byahatti diagnosed it almost immediately. I even had an appointment with my GP (regular check-up) a week before the removal surgery. Obviously I told him about the upcoming surgery. He looked at my ear and admitted he wouldn't have caught it.

In and out in five minutes, she didn't do anything more than my regular doctor did.

My 7 year old came home with a note from school that he failed his hearing test. We saw Dr. Byahatti and he failed the hearing test there too. I did point out that my son has seasonal allergies and his ears could be blocked for that reason. She mentioned giving him tubes but we decided to wait and see if it cleared up. We went back month later. The woman that gave him the hearing test said his hearing was borderline normal, an improvement. When we went in to see the doctor, right off the bat, "we should really give him tubes." She had not even looked in his ears. I said, "oh, I was told that he had improved." She looked a little flustered and said, "wait a second." She came back with the report in her hand.......she hadn't even looked at it yet. His hearing was back to normal shortly after without tubes. Perhaps she is good at what she does, but she will apparently do a procedure whether it is needed or not.
