Dr. Seema Shah, MD

Takes her time and makes you feel like she cares.

When I first met Dr. Seema Shah, I was scared due to my illness (chronic MRSA) and wary of her potential character, as she was the third infectious disease doctor I had seen for the problem; the first two had been both rude and incompetent. Dr. Shah was completely different: she insisted on my recounting to her every detail of my medical history, and she listened quite patiently. Although the location of my infection was one of the main reasons for its difficulty in treating (deep in the sinus cavities), she actually had treated two other patients with the same condition. She took almost two hours to explain everything to me, including why certain antibiotics would or would not work, to the honest (but true) possibility that I might never truly eradicate it, but would be able to manage it as a chronic illness. However things went, she was determined to improve my quality of life, and she did accomplish that. Furthermore, she's been incredibly understanding, easy to reach, and… works well with my other physicians to ensure the MRSA does not spread. Whenever I have had to speak to her, she has returned my calls within a half hour. I could not be more impressed with a doctor.
