Dr. Selena Liao, MD

Dr Liao removed my thyroid gland 14 months ago and I am now cancer-free. She was kind and patient. She explained all of the procedures in-depth and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend Dr Liao to anyone having ENT issues. Russ Dazen Albuquerque, NM

She's amazing, she helped my fiance and purified he's life and I would recommend her to anyone and trust her with our lives. I have never had someone explain, be so patient and explain everything to us. She did he's surgery and was amazing making sure the cancer was out. She don't deserve no bad ratings at all

Dr. Liao did not send me for a specific enough ultrasound or even look at the ultrasound past the radiologists notes before taking me into surgery for a total thyroidectomy for thyroid cancer. The end result was a surgery that left me with more (much more) cancer inside my neck/lymph nodes and no option for another surgery. She told me after surgery everything went well, only to find out during my follow up visit that she only biopsied one lymph node in my neck during my surgery. Prior to surgery, she stated that she she would look at all my lymp nodes while I was being operated on before ending my surgery and remove all of the cancer if she found any (performing a full neck dissection). She didn't do anything she promised. Instead, she performed a negligent surgery that is causing me a tremendous amount of treatment and the fear that my cancer could now continue to spread throughout my body. Dr. Liao's negligence has signficantly impacted my life and other potential patients need to… be aware. Do your research, this is a delicate surgery that requires a high level of expertise. Expertise that Dr. Liao does not have. While I am continuing my cancer treatments and now possibly need a third surgery to fix what Dr. Liao couldn't, Dr. Liao is no where to be found. She left the practice she was working at and left her patients as well with nothing but a letter to state she was gone. Terribly unprofessional, especially when you are dealing with something as sensitive as cancer.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Selena Liao. My son was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in Santa Fe. I don't have much confidence in the medical care in Santa Fe so we researched doctors in ABQ. Dr. Liao spent over an hour with us explaining the procedure, complications etc. she patiently listened and answered all of our questions. Our sons surgery was yesterday. It turned out to be more aggressive and Dr Liao did an excellent job with his surgery. She is a brilliant surgeon with a beautiful bedside manner. A doctor exhibiting excellence in medical skill and having a good bedside manner is very rare and Dr. Liao has BOTH! I really can't reccommend her enough.

Dr Liao was very engaged in understanding past throat medical issues and assessing current conditions. She took the time to address questions and discuss short-term resolutions for continued improvement.

Before even examining me she had already come up the conclusion that I had allergies and was annoyed that I was here. A doctor had previously diagnosed me with a sinus infection and she questioned that doctors diagnosis. When I stated I had an allergic reaction to a medication, she did not believe me and questioned my symptoms. Her bedside manner is nonexistent. I mentioned all the previous remedies I had tried and she belittled me and intimidated me while she explained that I had not put in enough effort. If you would like a doctor to care about you as a patient and diagnosis your symptoms then I would not recommend going to her.
