Horrible doctor. This doctor needs a psychiatric evaluation! Crazy!

I went to this doctor complaining of an allergic reaction she told me there's nothing wrong when another doctor caught it and sent me to the Allergy Clinic she scolded me and said i had to use the allergy clinic that she uses. She asked me why I didn't tell her when I explain to her thats why i been in there twice in the last 2 weeks & that I did tell her she told me I was too stressful and that I had to see another doctor and she would not be my doctor anymore. Instead of saying she made a mistake and missed it everything is the patient's fault. then the doctor said "i should of listen to Barbie" who is a receptionist. What kind of doctor get your medical advice from their receptionist? A bad dr. like dr. Akbar. When my heart doctor switched up blood pressure medicines I was wrong for listening to him. If you see this doctor be ready for everything to be your fault no matter what kind of mistake she makes. It was okay for her to scold me like a little kid but when I started cussing… her out the receptionist thought she was going to tell me I cannot speak to a doctor that way. I told both of them off!!!

Only one staff member is rude and doesn't follow through with what she says. Not sure what her name is but has a more rugged voice than the rest. All the others are great and so are the doctors.

If you are looking for an uncaring, rude doctor then she is the one for you. I was lied to by the staff. I asked before making an appointment if she could continue the medications I was on with my previous doctor. They said no problem. That was a lie. She wants to push you off on a specialist for everything. She wanted me to go to a psych appointment for an antidepressant and refuses to fill my anti anxiety meds. She won't prescribe my muscle relaxer. She said that is for my pain doctor to do. They prescribe pain meds ONLY, not muscle relaxers. I asked for an MRI for my knee. She pushed that off on the pain clinic. I told her I have bronchitis and asked for antibiotics. She said no that she thinks I have COPD....what?? Why?? She is a jerk and doesn't address anything you ask her about. She even had the nerve to trash talk my pain management clinic and when I told them, they said they have had so many problems with her. She tried telling me I HAVE to switch to a different pain… management clinic because she thinks I should! I'm not even convinced that she is, in fact, a doctor. She did NOTHING for me. She gave me meds I didn't ask for or need.

Doctor was ok. Staff was so RUDE!! You go to the doctor because you don't feel good anyway. You should not have to tolerate rude staff!

Staff is extremely rude.

Waiting room time is about an hour. Once in the exam room she is quick to come in but keeps asking the same questions over and over. I've seen her 4 times and none of those times did she even examine me, despite me complaining of abdominal pain and unusual back pain. Refuses to order an tests.

Dr. Selina Akbar is very caring, and thorough. One of the best doctor's I've seen in years.
