When Dr. Sergio Lenchig checks his mail, he will find thank you letters from patients discussing the everyday activities or tasks they are able to accomplish thanks to his care. Some talk about how they can now walk their dog while others discuss how emptying the dishwasher and getting out of bed are no longer challenges.
“I often say ‘I don’t save lives; I make them better.’ ...We are changing the quality of life for patients and it gets us excited to go to the office every day.”
With over a decade of experience in the pain medicine field, Dr. Lenchig trained in two residencies: physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and general surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center, both in Florida. The University of Miami also served as the site for his two fellowships in interventional pain medicine and spinal cord injury.
Dr. Lenchig is committed to utilizing the latest in approved state-of-the-art technologies as a part of …individualized treatment plans. He is able to treat complex or chronic pain from the neck through the spine to the toes.
“Science is allowing physicians to treat patients with incredible techniques,” he said. “Radiofrequency waves are utilized to ablate, stimulate and disrupt pain signals to the brain. Devices to target painful nerves are becoming more precise, smaller and even non-contact. Medications are becoming less utilized as these new technologies are giving patients a multitude of options.”
Specializing in diagnosing the origin of a patient’s pain, Dr. Lenchig utilizes advanced modern technology to target the exact pain source while creating a treatment plan that is non-invasive, safe and convenient for patients to follow.
“Our patients become our family,” he said. “We want to understand their lifestyle, what their goals are and how we can help them achieve the best health possible. ...I love helping both my patients and staff live their best day-to-day life. I want to leave this world around me a little brighter than how I found it.”
Away from the office, Dr. Lenchig can be found at the gym religiously starting his daily workout routine at 5 a.m. An avid snowboarder, he also enjoys spending time with his friends and family with all sorts of activities on the beaches of South Florida.
I couldn't say enough good things about Dr. Sergio Lenchig. I'm 92 yrs. old, nearly 93 and wouldn't be walking now without a walker or cane if it weren't for this wonderful Dr. My problems are in my lower back where I've fallen many times. He's very knowledgeable, listens carefully and patient. You can't go wrong making an appointment with him!
