Dr. Sergio Leonardo Pinski, MD

In Sept. 2017 Dr. Pinski recommended I have my pacemaker changed out to a 3 lead pacemaker and defibrillor. I had visited Cleveland Clinic in Ohio during the summer and they recommended I follow up with a cardiologist in Weston, which is closer to my home. Worst mistake of my life. It was suppose to be simple. I have already had extensive heart surgery and a previous pacemake with no problems. 10 days I would be back to work! That's what I was told. Well due to a humongous hematoma that Dr. Pinski caused, I was out of work for months. Blood pooled from my neck to my belly button and I was one big black and blue bruise. My medicine wasn't adjusted right and he showed no concern about giving me the hematoma. On my follow-up visit he asked who had put the pacemaker in, then when reminded it was him, went out to read his records. I got an infection from the staples and now find that the skin is very thin over the pacemaker site. Dr. Piniski was very condescending and did not… consult with my extensive history. He recommended a medicine that I had already tried and hadn't worked. It was one disaster after another. I received very poor care from him and would not recommend him to anyone. A good doctor will listen to a patient and have a discussion with them. Dr. Pinski was unable to do this.

I am a 20 year old male who was having A-fib a couple times a week. After seeing several cardiologists with no results I went to see Dr. Pinski. The care and treatment I received was excellent and I haven't had any more episodes. I highly recommend Dr. Pinski to anyone with serious heart problems .

I have finally received a diagnosis regarding my complaints of shortness of breath, chest discomfort & weight changes that I felt were due to fluid. BUT, not from Dr. P. I also have a rate related left bundle branch block that would kick in when my heart rate was between 95-100 BPM. Was told for years it's no big deal. But my SOB symptoms have become worse and now affects me in the normal daily activities of life. I went to Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Fl hoping to receive answers. They did some tests, heart MRI, Exercise Metabolic Stress test. My results showed severe cardiopulmonary limitations. The doc thought Dr. P would do an EP study, but he didn't. He decided to give me a pill that didn't do anything to help. It was also recommended I be further evaluated for some other things, but instead of Dr. P referring me to another cardiologist to have these things checked out, he ignored the recommendation. I was uncomfortable with this so I contacted the doctor at my test… and he referred me to another cardiologist. He said Dr. P is strictly an Electrophysiologist Cardiologist and I needed to see a Cardiologist that focused on other types of problems. I saw that doctor, also at Cleveland Clinic. She ordered a stress echo to measure my pulmonary pressures. The test result didn't show that they measured my pulmonary pressures. So when I went back to Dr. P for my follow up and questioned him about it, he waved his hand in the air and said, you don't have pulmonary hypertension. How would he know this since the test didn't give the information it was supposed to is beyond me. When I spoke to him about the chest tightness and pain down my arm I was experiencing, he said, that's what happens when you have extra weight. You get aches and pains. He completely dismissed my symptoms. He was condescending and didn't care to take the time to figure out what was wrong. HE wanted the tests to have answers and if they didn't, I was fine in his eyes. After my last visit when he continually brushed off my concerns, I decided I needed to go elsewhere. I went to Mayo Clinic. It was the smartest move I made because they took me serious & figured out what was wrong. It's a place that I was listened to without my weight being made the source of my problems. It was a symptom. Now, by looking at me, I'm not obese by any means. According to the "medical" standards, I would be considered obese. I am 5'4 and where a size 14. A typical average size for a woman. I'm 50 years old. I have gained weight I felt from fluid, because I have a very healthy diet. I don't eat enough to warrant the weight gain I've experienced. Dr. P as well as the other cardiologist I saw at Cleveland clinic felt I needed a heart cath. I had one I had in 2011 didn't show any blockages. The heart cath is the gold standard and will give you all the answers when all else fails. My stress echo didn't show what was going on with my heart. Unfortunately instead of continuing to figure out was was wrong, Dr. P thought I should go to cardiac rehab to "learn" how to exercise. I know "how" to exercise, the problem was I couldn't exercise anymore. Thankfully I didn't listen to his last piece of advice to go to cardiac rehab. Without them knowing exactly what was wrong, I could have died. I went to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. They did more pulmonary testing & completely ruled out my lungs, a Coronary Angiogram and finally decided to do a Heart Cath and EP study. I have left sided heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Dr. should remember why he became a doctor. Not everything is black and white.

I have been having an issue with constant light headedness for 12 years. I lose my vision and get pain and pressure in my head. The nurse at Dr. Pinski's office had me lay down and she checked my blood pressure she then had me stand and rechecked my pressure and it instantly dropped more then 30 points. The doctor came in and said I am young (i'm 27) I will grow out of what ever is going on. I said it's been 12 years and I haven't grown out of it yet, I can't work because of this. He said so get pregnant. Me and my husband laughed because we didn't think he was serious. But he just stared at me. I said well that isn't an option right now. He said No get pregnant. I said I don't want to have a baby right now so there should be another solution other then getting pregnant. He said, you are young you can use the hormones so get pregnant. I started to tear up in rage. He said I have nothing else to add and shook my hand and walked out.

When I first met with Dr. Pinski I was quite apprehensive about an ablation. He was very encouraging, positive and answered all of my questions and reiterated for me to contact his office with any issues I may have forgotten. I underwent 2 ablations with him and I would do again if necessary, Outstanding professional, very knowledgeable and someone I would highly recommend. His staff is very pleasant and reassuring.

I can not express how much Dr. Pinski and his staff has meant to my family. They go far and above to take the best of care of their patients. We travel from Naples but having such an outstanding doctor and staff is well worth the drive.
