My husband was sent to Dr Tahl in Tucson to have a third lead put in his heart and the pacemaker replaced. The lead put in caused Vagus nerve problems. There was only one vain available for the implant because of the position of the vain with the Vagus nerve,The lead implanted was the wrong lead. The patient needed a 4 point lead, not a two point lead. Dr Tahl should have known that when he saw the one available vain for the lead. His statement about his procedure and care was "I do what I'm told", passing the responsibility to the doctor at the VA in Phoenix .If you know your job and you can see the procedure you are doing isn't going to work, wouldn't you stop. If Dr Tahl didn't know that he was putting in the wrong lead on that one available vain, then he shouldn't be doing this procedure. He needs to go back to school None of my husband"s VA doctors' ordered an INR, which should have been done before surgery, plus a 12 point EKG. The INR was done at my husbands insistence. Dr.… Tahl's communication skills and bedside manner were mediocre. I would never recommend anyone to go to Dr. Tahl or for that matter, I wouldn't recommend that department of the Tucson VA. The nursing care in the CDU unit was very poor.
