Dr. Seth Branahl, MD

Dr. Seth took over caring for our daughter after our midwife had successfully delivered her. He's a confident, capable, and well-informed pediatrician for those of us who respect current science and feel that we have an ethical obligation to consider the consequences of our public health choices. There is a lot of questionable information circulating around pediatrics, and we appreciate Dr. Seth's empathetic and respectful efforts to educate those who may be misinformed about vaccine efficacy, family planning, early childhood development, and so on.

70 hours without sleep after delivering my 6th baby completely unmedicated this man came into my room as the on call pediatrician and proceeded to verbally accost me over my vaccine choices. I responded kindly numerous times that I already had a trusted doctor and didn’t need his advice, that I wasn’t interested in discussing further, that I understood where he was coming from (I’m a former peds nurse) , and he continued to bully me and tried to “educate me”. He refused to leave many times and kept badgering me over “what I think I know” about shots. It was clear he hadn’t read the inserts and had no clue about the preservatives and adjuvants in them - because he argued over and over again that what I was saying simply wasn’t true. At the point where he started talking about babies dying because of people like me I lost it. My delivery was traumatic , I was all alone, completely exhausted and vulnerable, and this man verbally assaulted me. My post partum anxiety Because of this… interaction has been severe and this man should not be allowed to speak to new mothers in this manner. Idaho allows all 3 vaccine exemptions and I have every right to make educated informed decisions regarding what will or will not be injected into my child. We have an autistic son already and know all too well that we carry a genetic risk. This man ruined what should have been a peaceful bonding recovery time with my newborn and left me in hysterical tears and the nurses had to come in and talk me down for an hour after he left. Shame on him.
