Dr. Shachi Bharat Patel, MD

Dr. Shachi Patel is an efficient and compassionate Pediatrician with extensive experience in providing diverse, multicultural care. Dr. Patel has a special interest in providing services for asthma, allergies, and behavioral and mental health disorders.

Dr. Patel earned her Bachelor of Science in Medicine and Surgery from Maharashtra University of Health in Nasik, Maharashtra, India. She earned her Diploma in Child Health in General Pediatrics from B.J. Wadia Hospital for Children in Mumbai, India. Dr. Patel earned her Doctor of Medicine in General Pediatrics and completed her Pediatric Residency at Ochsner LSU Health System in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Patel cares for patients at the Grasslands Campus.

Describe your clinical specialties.
I see patients for wellness checks from newborn to 18 years of age. I have a special interest in providing services for asthma, allergies, and behavioral and mental health disorders.



What is your patient care philosophy?
I believe in …providing anticipatory guidance to parents and helping them manage their child's health and sickness better. I encourage all parents to be involved in their child's health by joint decision-making.

What would you like people to know about you as a physician?
I am friendly and easy to talk to. I am caring and a problem solver.

What do you enjoy most about working with patients?
I love kids! They bring joy and laughter to my day.

How does your work improve lives?
My work improves lives by providing anticipatory guidance about growth, nutrition, safety, and illness to provide stepping stones for the overall improvement of a child's life.

What are some interesting facts about you?
I love food! You can always find me either cooking or gardening when I am at home. I am outdoorsy, I like to travel, hike, kayak, swim, and soak up the Florida sun! Also, I like to start my day with some yoga.

With which community and volunteer organizations are you involved?
On weekends, I work with cultural and religious organizations in and around Lakeland.

Would you like to share about your family?
I am married to a wonderful man, and together we are plant parents to many fruit trees in our backyard!

What childhood memory do you have about visiting the doctor?
I always got ice cream after getting a shot at the doctor’s office!

I believe learning is a continuous process. I make sure I learn something new every day.
