Dr. Shafiq Rahman, MD

I have been seeing doctor Shafiq Rahman for 5 years, very nice man. He knows what he's doing great Doctor and he very personal. I like him.

Very honest, has a lot of experience.

Spent nearly 10 years diagnosed by Rahman as bipolar when I had ADHD the whole time. The Geisinger system continued his so called treatment plan without any questions or testing. 10 years of wrong medicines and misery, doesn't listen to your concerns either. Oh and if you're on any benzos or controlled substance be prepared for him to cut it in half immediately first visit with no basis or reasoning. Do research. Find a new doc. Now.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Rahmen for awhile now in the shavertown location. He’s all around a good doctor who truly cares and does right by his patients. He listens to everything I have to say and I know that can be hard and complicated sometimes. All in all Dr. Rahmen has my full support as a patient he’s a good doctor and even a better man! Thanks for everything!!!

Gave me a diagnosis I had never received before with very limited info collected. I asked him about the DSM guidelines and he said I'm overthinking. And that this is even more a reason I'm diagnosed, because I asked for further clarification. He became very rude to me and condescending, asking me if I'm so smart what do I think. I know there are no good psychiatrists in this area, but you'd be better off with a nurse practitioner than this man. He is a bad doctor and should not be practicing.

The worst Psychiatrist I ever had in my life! Late, Rude, Biased, Unprofessional, Unethical, collects the (cash) co=pay right from ya. I never ever seen a doctor pull his wallet out before, with a wad of cash, especially in front of mentally ill patients (myself). Will not work with me, and hasn't for nine years. He is also right. My other psychiatrists, changed my medication levels, according to the way my mood disorder changes. This doctor will not change anything; it's his way or no way. Last appointment, he snapped at me. I actually considered him my friend. I asked for a simple medication tweak, and he flipped, "You can do one of two things.... go find another doctor... or... take the medications I tell you to, and you are no longer welcome in the morning, you put me behind now for the entire day, Michael." He also bills $90/hr to my Geisinger Insurance, and... he will not allow you in his office any longer than fifteen mins. This is FRAUD! And just because it is a… religious holiday, that anyone, all over the world, doesn't celebrate... you must take part with this doctor. He will not turn on the air conditioner. I reported him to the Attorney General's office in PA. And filled out the short form. My mind is starting to clear up now. I feel, not to be overly dramatic, I feel violated. P.S. I'm sure after he gets wind... he'll try to get other patients, like he did me, which I said, 'okay doctor' and never did... to come online and give him good reviews to counter all these bad ones. Terrible; makes me cry.

Was there for my initial appointment at 3pm. Asked to come at 245 to fill out paperwork. Got there timely filled out paper work and waited. 2 people ahead of me which is fine. About 335 another woman comes in and after the two people ahead of me are seen he calls the woman who came after me at 4pm. Tells me that she will only take a few minutes. I explained that my appt was at 3 pm. He then proceeds to tell me that they can reschedule me. After an hour and a half of waiting, bypassing me for another patient, not even apologizing or explaining anything we left. I can't even review him personally other than he did not even have time for me.

Amazing doctor !! Diagnosed my condition right away ! He listens to everything you say. I know others who see him as well, and all have given such postive reviews . There are patients who have been with him for years and years!

Unfortunately he spent more time looking at his computer and at other patient files than focusing on me. I understand he's busy but if I had to make time to see him shouldn't he have returned the courtesy?
